Not sure how I feel about this stuff. Was happy for Bieksa when they did the same in Vancouver, but really doesn’t feel as authentic as when athletes retire with an uninterrupted career on their team.
But anyhow, happy for Wayne and the Philly fans. They deserve it.

Simmers used to be my favorite player when he was in LA. I was sad when they traded him away but it worked out for us. Philly was a perfect fit for him but i always wished he had gone farther in his career.

Cool guy. Shameful how they treated him in Chomutov, hopefully it didn’t sour his feelings on Czechia.

Prime Simmonds on the Flyers would turn them from a mid bubble team into much more of a force

Kings fans will always feel like Simmonds is one of ours, even though he clearly made his name in Philly and is a Flyer. You were an amazing NHL player Wayne, congrats on a fantastic career!

One of the toughest pound for pound players of his generation. Only 184 lbs and didn’t back down from anybody.

A gritty man who played a great brand of hockey. A throwback, but definitely not a dinosaur, if that makes sense.
Congrats to Wayne-o, hope his health is good so he can enjoy the hell out of retirement!

me actually respecting someone from this team says a lot about him.
