  1. Yea he got fleeced. Should of been a 1st and 3rd no conditions. This is a 1st line guy… not a Shean Monahan. That's tough. Pit in trouble.

  2. For now i say its fair trade. Koivunen is doing very well in here Finnish league. Time will tell who was winner or if its stay fair deal. If Carolina win Cup or/and is able re-sign Guentzel this was good trade, but if they not win Cup and lose Guentzel its huge loss. For Pittsburgh, i think return was good, they didnt lose him free and got couple very good talents what can be a lot better than late first round pick.

  3. I’m from Toronto and a Leafs fan. Pittsburgh fans will learn soon that Dubas loves guys who played in Sault Ste. Marie. That’s why Bunting is in the deal. What’s also crazy is that this move shows me Dubas still wants to make the playoffs next year.

  4. Dubas is a dumbass. Guentzal Crosby is fire. Prospects are prospects, a hope and a prayer. Dubas just raised the white flag, the Pens are lame duck now and will sink straight to the bottom. Blown out 6-0 immediately. Worst GM in the league.

  5. I like this trade for Pittsburgh. Stacking up prospects for the future is a great idea while the core is approaching 40. You got bunting to fill the hole guentzel leaves. They never got an extension done so getting something for guentzel over him walking for nothing is by far the best option. In my opinion Pittsburgh needs to accept that it's time to rebuild. Extending these high 30 year olds for "one more run" is not a good idea

  6. Not fleeced, just delusional. They made trade to ‘remain a cup contender’…. When reality (play on the ice) says its over.

  7. Dubas should find a way to trade for Gibson and offload some more aging player contracts that aren’t Crosby, Malkin, Letang or Karlsson. Namely Rust, Rakell, Smith and Eller. They could use some young wingers.

  8. Nice click bait.. "fleeced"…No he wasnt fleeced. Dubas had little leverage. He received a starting middle 6 in Bunting and several good prospects and possibly picks. If anything, Don Waddell overpaid if Guentzel doesnt re-sign with the Canes.

  9. What hurts as a Pens fan is that Carolina can re-sign him. The Rangers couldn't. I am sure this was probably the best package available, but that also means a division rival can re-sign Guentzel. A division rival who will remain competitive for a few more years.

  10. I would rather have this trade than risk Guentzel walk free agency, obviously trade talks between Vegas & Vancouver went south they weren’t gonna risk their prospects and 1st for a rental player but Carolina was willing to sell for a better top 6 and make a deep playoff run.

Best of Luck for Jake he proved multiple times in burgh he can play without Crosby or Geno im honestly excited to see play on another team
