Just rest him up until there’s like 3-5 games left, just so he can get his legs going.

Thank fuck we had that win streak to solidify our play off spot.

This is clearly a ploy to get around the salary cap

Not surprising. I didn’t think he’d be back soon. “Mild” or not a high ankle sprain is no joke. We’ve had two guys go down to the injury this year. Liljegren took over a month before he was back. Woll took over two months. Expecting Mitch to be back after a week was a fantasy. Frankly I’d keep him out until the final week of the season just so he can get his legs back. Otherwise don’t rush him.

High angle sprains are brutal. I have to imagine he’ll be playing injured in the playoffs

This could be a blessing in disguise, if we somehow learn to win well without him then add him to a team that’s buzzing. Fingers crossed

Put him on LTIR and fill his spot, then activate him in the playoffs.

  8. Didn’t think he was going to come back this soon anyway. I just still can’t get over how he hurt himself. Not shooting on a wide open net, skating around the net then taking an awful shot while flailing and sprained his ankle. Just the most ridiculous sequence I’ve seen from a player to injure themselves.

We are pretty much locked into 3rd in the Atlantic. Take as long as needed for him to feel 1000%. No point in rushing him back. If it’s another week then so be it. Playoffs is what’s important. Ideally he has 3 games to get his timing and condition ext back to game speed
