Isles signing Alex Jefferies of Merrimack College, 2020 fourth round pick, to his ELC
Merrimack F Alex Jefferies will sign with the New York Islanders, per a source. Told the ELC will begin in 2024-25. He'll go to Bridgeport on an ATO. Told the door isn't closed on him playing the first year of his ELC this year if he plays well in Bridgeport.

This is actually very big news, this kid tore it up in college and many were worried that the Islanders couldn’t sign him

Anyone have a scouting report? I don’t follow college at all unfortunately
I haven’t been this excited to see us retain talent in a little while. Report is he’s NHL ready now as a 3rd/4th liner with the upside of getting into the top 6. He’s got great north-south speed, good size, he’s been a point per game 2 years in a row and on the 1st line at WJC.
For the people complaining about prospects, most players we have on our roster we drafted and developed. Of the major contributors, Romanov, Palms, Pageau, Horvat are the only ones who we traded for. We had plenty of guys, like Jeffries, who took their time to develop and became amazing
