Yup, he got hot. I was using DeBrusk as a measuring stick for Ovechkin's performance going into the All-Star break. But yeah that seems to be over.
GO OVI GO !
I made a bet on that so go go go
There is no way Ovechkin is retiring without the record. No way. I bet he will even take year by year contracts with minimum pay, if needed, to achieve it
I did read somewhere that he was all set to retire next year when his current contract is up but I also genuinely believe he won’t give up until he’s beat the record
even if he doesnt break the record, hes the best goal scorer in nhl history, you cant compare gretzky era, to the modern game, the net space is incomparable, not to mention how much space the goalie now occupies compared to then.
I see him going to 950.
He still has two seasons left on his contract. He'll finish his career with more than 900 goals, and also obtain the most GWGs in the process — he only needs 8 more for that record. It would be awesome if he scores 30 this season and another 50 in one of the following 2 seasons for the most 50 goal seasons. If Bäckström returns next season, it's possible with this current team.
