I look at the feasibility and benefits of the New Jersey Devils acquiring goaltender Marc Andre Fleury from the Minnesota Wild.
I would love to see this deal happen.

I said this in comment section of Let's Go Devils podcast like 3 weeks ago and I got boo"ed at of the comment section..lol..He could help out young goalies as well
Now here's an idea I can get behind
My fav team is devils and my second is hawks when fleury was on the team he was ok but you never know how he’s gonna play he gets wins but he lets in to many goals leaves the net to many times now if we can get him for less then a 3 rd witch won’t happen he’ll most likely retire at the end of the season

He hasn’t been great this year, but I’d be willing to take a chance on him in hopes that a chance of scenery can spark a resurgence (like Quick, who was horrific last season for the Kings and Knights and is now playing amazing for the Rangers). Anybody is better than Vitek (and no, that’s not a baseless “I hate Vitek” comment, that’s a stat based comment. He is LITERALLY the worst starter in the NHL this season).
Flower already said he isnt willing to waive his NMC. I can see him possibly waiving it if the Pens were in the post season, but right now they are not. You do realize his S% is .876 😮

Love these ideas. We need a positive feel good story to help us turn a dark corner in this franchise’s history. Need to salvage this season somehow – that means turn this season around and make the playoffs. Anything else is gravy at this point.
I follow the Wild pretty closely. It really sounds like Guerin hasn't asked Fleury if he wants to waive his NMC. Two years ago, the Wild got him for a 2nd which turned into a 1st if he won 4 playoff games. I imagine it would be something like that. Maybe start at a 3rd, 2nd if you make the 2nd round and a 1st if you make the conference finals.
First again as like the Markstrom. I don't see Fleury getting traded to anywhere. He is 39 years old and it maybe his last season. Also the Devils are not going to win the Cup this year, not with the defence. You are right the Devils do have the window opened. It seams that you want something now and not thinking the long term. The window is just opened and it will be not long before the Devils to do a run. Look at the Stanley Cup team it takes years with the same guys in place. Also overtime getting the players that would be the puzzle of a Stanley Cup winner. So I guess the GM is right be patient. I feel that you want something now and that might not be good for the long term. So keep dreaming and the time will come for NJ.
you are right on maroon…all of our guys are scared to screen the other teams goalies….maroon made a living doing it with palat id love to see him back….as for fleury i dont know man inconsistent louongo type goalie we have that know LOL….

One last comment today, Brodeur’s kid is looking fantastic in Adirondack, he looked great in the shutout last week and I’ve watched him grow all season. Hey, devils fans can dream baby!
I've been saying that this is the move. Trade for Fluery as an affordable stop gap then go after a UFA like Stolarz in the off-season
His pads and helmet would be excellent
So let me understand this, we have the greatest goalie of all time sitting in the front office, but Fleury is going to somehow mentor Nico Daws? Really? Pat maroon is going to add grit. Wasn't Timo supposed to be that guy? How about Palat? Is he on a milk carton yet? Those 2 trades are nothing moves and barely move the needle. Henrique is a much better fit, and watch the Rangers grab him. If that happens, keep telling me what a great job Fitzgerald is doing 😅
No point in signing anyone and burning picks/assets. The season is over. Defense could care less about boxing out around the net. Brodeur in his prime would give up 3 goals a game on this team.
