I’m pretty confused by the flak that Torts is getting for scratching Coots. Honestly, it makes sense to give him a break. Dude is pretty clearly having a tough time down the stretch and that’s probably mostly a conditioning thing because of his injury. People are butthurt he’s getting 4th line minutes, but if a dude is having conditioning problems, how the fuck can he play 1st line minutes every night? He’d get torched.
That said, it sounds like Coots and Torts need to have a sit down and talk about it, but I don’t think it was an outrageous thing to do by scratching him. A few extra days of rest could make a big difference for Coots.
I still believe in the Captain and I still believe in Torts. Let’s see some playoff hockey this year.

Very unpopular opinion: coots should not have been made captain in February. It should have waited for off-season thing or made him an alternate.
