Only 3 players have ever done this

Alex Ovechkin scored his 20th goal of the season, becoming only the 3rd player in league history to do so for 19 straight seasons, during the Washington Capitals win over the Calgary Flames Monday night. That and more in today’s NHL hockey video.

  1. Every single Flames video youā€™ve done this year has been a negative one where the Flames are losing the game. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Flames go on a 5 game winning streak? Silence. Flames beat a bunch of top tier teams in a row?? SILENCE.

  2. Anyone else see that "hockey analyst" on Twitter say "Why are we celebrating a guy scoring his 20th goal of the season in mid March?" May be the worst hockey take I've seen all year.

  3. I donā€™t think ovi is slowing down as much as people think. The caps really struggled the first half of the season, especially offensively and on the power play. Now that theyā€™ve started picking it up the past month or two ovi has put up similar numbers to the past few seasons. Hope he can reach 30 by the end of the season

  4. Bro, did you see how fast his one timer went? 95 MPH!!! NINETY FIVE MILES AN HOUR. Ovi is ripping slapshots at PEAK speed. What a legend

  5. This is the best the caps have played as an entire team since probably Trotz left
The few years were they made the playoffs they felt more like a one line team but this latest stretch they play like they need in order to win
    No explosive offensive
    No costly penalties
Just opportunistic when they need to be and lockdown at other times

Will be interesting to see how they pan out but I see them as a playoff team and could be dangerous, even if they donā€™t get out of round one they will be exhausting to play against (fingers crossed they pull the canes)

  6. lol I love how you always make mention of former Mooseheads players. God I should really go see more games than I do, the tickets are cheap.

  7. I seriously doubt it would happen, but this is the same kind of play we saw down the stretch from the Caps the year they won the cup. They'd been middling all year until the last month and a half then turned it on and won 14 of their last 20 games, including 9 of their last 12.
