[Walker] Matt Rempe on what he learned from his 4-game suspension:

>“More control of my body, just stuff like that. If a guy is pulling out of a hit, just got to be careful. It was an accident. I thought I was going to hit the wall… Never want to see a guy get hurt or anything like that. I’m still going to play super hard, play the same way. I’m just going to make sure my hits are clean, like, keep everything compact, keep everything tight. It will be good. Just live and learn.”

No. 73 also said he had no idea he even hit Jonas Siegenthaler.

>“Obviously, watching back, I did. I made a mistake… I thought I hit the wall, but I ended up hitting him. That was unfortunate. I’m sorry about that.”

He was practicing on a line with Goody and Vesey today, while Brodz was skating with the dmen, according to the beat writers. Quick was also the first goalie off.

Good kid. Everyone else is just jealous af he’s ours and that he’s a Rangers. Can’t wait to see you back, Rempe!

  3. Walker seems like she wants to adopt him like he’s a puppy, the way she talks about him on the podcast

r/hockey seems to refuse to believe that this could have been accidental. They seem to not understand how fast things happen in game and that Rempe didn’t have time to fully analyze the situation after Siegenthaler slowed down and essentially put him in a collision course with the wall.

  5. Sounds like he had a lot of good takeaways from what happened.

Awesome. Can’t wait to see him in action again!

  6. Zero-jiggler

Obviously he needs to be better than that, but everyone who thinks he just decided to elbow Siegenthaler into oblivion is being intentionally dense. He pretty obviously was bracing himself for the wall when he realized he was going to miss. Deserved suspension, prob gonna have to push MacDermid’s teeth in next game but whatever. Life goes on, still want to see more of what the kid can do.

Hope he spent the last week learning with Trouba on how to hit properly in the NHL.

Yeah I don’t give a flying spit! These crybaby checks will be legal hits in the playoffs. And it is clear that this man can cause other teams to rethink the way they approach the physical game with us.

Really hopes he gets in the lineup for game 1. It will totally change the approach for the opposing team
