Notice how the normal list of “top” defensemen doesn’t overlap with this list at all.

A hell of a lot is being asked of him. He’s having to play in a way that’s expected out of guys who are 5yrs older and are in their prime

  3. What stands out to me is Noah Dobson. 10th hardest defensive minutes in the league and he’s got 8g 57a 65p +10. Dude is having a hell of a year.

Can we stop with these difficult minutes crap? Cuz those same apologists will say he should get $9M + for his next contract. Well pick a side. Top level Dmen gotta face top level competition and thrive.

I think people fail to take this into account when they shit all over Mo for not having gaudy points totals and not playing as loose.

If he got second pair responsibilities he’d look way close to rookie Seider. He has to play a more simplified game taking the hardest match ups.

  6. this feels slightly like coaching malpractice. could be wrong.

This feels like reporting half of the story without seeing how well (or not well) they are performing in these matchups.

Not seeing high end DEFENSEmen (Slavin, McAvoy, Toews, etc) on here makes we wonder…

Are other coaches aware of 96 and 53 defensive deficiencies and actively deploying their top players to feast on them?

    OR

Are other coaches deploying their best DEFENSEmen in more favorable matchups? If so, why would you not put your best D guys against the other teams best forwards?

It just seems like the logic is put your best D against the best players, but this isn’t aligned with that sentiment at all

  9. Knowing Leddy as well as we do im surprised hes on here.

I think this says as much about how much they trust the other defensemen. You are forced to play them in important situations because there is literally no other choice.
