I'm a huge Oiler fan and of course Connor… it was just a good "rub out"… wasn't even a hit, really But Vinnie being Vinnie, good guy, he had to do something. Good team player. Vincent Desharnais on the Cup…. has a ring to it. It'll be there in about 3 months… I have full confidence.
There definitely needs to be a different level of protection for the superstars in the league, otherwise you'd have fourth liners going after them constantly. Even if it's a clean hit, if the opposition are targeting your superstar with clean hits, there needs to be a deterrent. Could be a fight, or doing the same thing to their superstar.
Having said that, I don't think this crosses that line. It's a hit, and not even a hard one at that.
Of course it’s a good play by Manson… it doesn’t have to be a dirty play for the Oilers to “respond”, if they so choose to.
The purpose wouldn’t be revenge, because there’s nothing to avenge. The purpose is to try and give 97 a little more room out there, to do what he does best.
Like it or not, hockey is a full contact sport and intimidation plays a role.

There's a question about whether this a good hit or not?!?!? WHY?
