Combination of goofy goals and completely giving up and they lose a game they should’ve had won. Just a bunch of sloppy play between some glimmers of hope and a 2-0 lead becomes a 8-3 loss. Absolute joke

  2. AddictionsExWives

Boys better be bag skated until they’re vomiting on the ice. But it’s Granato so they’ll probably make the practice optional.

  3. xBialyOrzel

Granato and the entire coaching staff needs to go. That’s the only course of action left.

  4. I don’t want to alarm anyone but the Buffalo Sabres might not be a good hockey team

It’s ok, Donny had the boys conserve energy for next game after the 5th goal. We’ll see those benefits eventually I’m told.

If you wouldve told me the final score was an 8-3 loss pregame, I wouldve wagered my house on an Olofsson goal

  7. slightlyuglyboss

Clean house from the top down. This team isn’t serious about winning

  8. LuckyWarrior

I wonder how bad those 8 goals dragged down UPL’s stats

  9. SergeantBleuCheese

Body language was not good. They’re done with something. Don’t know if it’s Donny, but it’s something

  10. Only the Sabres can turn a 2 goal lead into an embarrassment.

lost to mcdavid with 4 assists and 0 shots. that certainly is a line.

The dream was nice while it lasted but that last period was god awful

I’m getting tired of losing, and tired of every player we trade to a contender talking about the culture being entirely different… harder working, winning culture.

If Granato survives the offseason, than his coaching seat better be scalding hot

  15. MoneybagsMcghee

Well we can all rest now at least. It’s over.

The Sabres haven’t made the playoffs since my freshman year of High School. I wish I could go tell that kid to choose a different team.

Do we finally get a new coach that knows when to call a timeout?

  18. Talas11324

Maybe if we go for 17 years we will get the hockey equivalent of Josh Allen and suddenly be saved

  19. floored_man

Don’t worry guys we can still make the playoffs!

The guys might have lost 8 – 3 but you can tell they are really trying and we have a chance to make a run still. This team has so much potential.

  20. It’s the 1800’s… it’s hot and humid… my wagon is finally making its stop. As I get off the “Sabres Playoff Push” wagon I look back at all the great memories this season. The wagon takes off without me. I look back down the trail and I see another wagon approaching.. this is the Rangers wagon! I’ll jump on for the playoffs!! GO RAGS!!

There goes the season. Brutal way to end it too. Guess there’s always next season x13

How will it ever be possible to change the culture enough when only several players change each season?

New players come in and eventually they get sucked into the black hole as well. More leave and new come in and then the same happens. They’ve been stuck in this loop for a decade now and this culture still exists even though the roster has completely turned over multiple times. It’s never ending.

  23. If I were the captain I’d make the team remove the RJ patches. Our team this year didn’t live up to what Buffalo owes him.

I paid for tickets to this game, and went to pretty much affirm that Granato and the coaching staff needs to go. They were purely reactive, bad bad passes which I honestly think he doesn’t correct in practice, this stupid system where on defence everybody bunches up in the middle of the ice, puck watching, and for the love of god this PP is one of the worst I’ve ever seen.

Can’t wait to see them in person again Sunday

  25. UnfairShock2795

it only took a couple of weeks for Bo Byrum to become Saberized.
Third was a complete melt down. Hung UPL out to dry. Oilers left open in the slot. Thompson so slow coming back. Several 2-1’s.

    sad

  26. comicsanscatastrophe

Listen I don’t usually call for coaches getting fired often. But Granato has to go after this season. We need a veteran coach who is going to push our guys to be better, not coddle them. Mittlestadt’s first comments I brushed off as altitude adjustment, then he doubled down and removed any doubts about what he thought about Granato as a coach. He’s soft and too buddy buddy. What the fuck was this tonight? Going into the third 3-3 and then losing 8-3 indicates very deep issues with coaching.

  27. whyareyoustaringup

granato – go count your money and go away…

  28. HarvesternC

I don’t know how you can bring this group of players back next year without significant changes. Sure, it’s possible they bounce back and everything aligns, but how could you ever be overly confident that this group is anything more than what they have shown long term?

  29. I’ll try to make this one positive: there’s only 11 games left and that 3rd period is finally over.

  30. burrito_disaster

The boo’s that they get are in fact justified.

  31. Green_hippo17

Made the right choice going to a show tonight

  32. Barmacist

Just remember, the boys get all sad and mopey if we boo them so be nice folks!!!
