[Masters] Caps coach Spencer Carbery on Auston Matthews: “The thing that I think he does as good as anybody in the world is his ability to win pucks, 50-50 pucks, pull them off the yellow, take contact, spin off. It’s as good as I’ve ever seen.”

Nah, the glazing is crazy
Did Cooper give some kind of seminar?
Y’all forgetting that he was the assistant coach?
There was a guy #13 for Detroit, but since then Matthews is probably the best I’ve seen.
It’s crazy to think that if he wasn’t the best shooter in the league, he would be a better Zach Hyman than Zach Hyman
Everyone on r/nhl says he’s soft tho
Matthews probably has the best hands I’ve ever seen. I know I’m kind of repeating what he said but it really is amazing how often he comes away with the puck when 5 sticks are chopping away at it.
Spencer was in charge of our PP and I think PK for the last couple of years. He was instrumental in our special teams being so elite the previous years. What people don’t know is that Spencer was our assistant coach and was a bigger loss than people think. I was pissed when the Caps poached him, but he deserves the head coach job.
What does he mean by “pull them off the yellow?”
“the thing he does as well as anyone in the world” is word salad for average.
Why do people say this when they mean “the thing he does better than anyone in the world”?
He wins most 30:70 pucks it’s incredible.
