Dave Schultz vs Terry O’Reilly Round 3 & Bobby Clarke scores the OT game winning goal

Dave the Hammer Schultz ( Philadelphia Flyers ) vs Terry O’Reilly ( Boston Bruins ) – NHL hockey fight May 9, 1974

  1. That goal by Bobby Clarke was one of the worst on Boston Bruins ice. What made it all the worse was Schultz made an excellent pass to Clarke. You couldn’t have scripted it worse (with “Moose” DuPont scoring the tying goal in the last minute). Saints preserve us!

  2. Another Bruins, Flyers physical game in the 1970's. Flyer tough guy Schultz tries to take on Bruin first round pick rookie Andre Savard.

O'Reilly, the ultimate policeman, moves to engage Schultz.

Dupont, knowing Schultz is outgunned, tries and fails to stop O'Reilly – and that is bad news for Schultz. O'Reilly lands six rapid fire lefts rocking Schultz.

The Hammer knew he was losing the fight, so he turned it into a wrestling match – and lost that too.

Clear win for Terry O'Reilly. A great teammate and policeman for his Bruins.

  3. That's the reason no one walked around with a full set of teeth. Better start throwing them because you will still get five for receiving.

  4. Those were the days miss that part of hockey O'Reilly was one of the best he fought the toughest guys from his Era never backed down defended his teammates it's just to bad they don't play hockey like they used to

  5. What a complete idiot this trainer was , who cares what you think Loser, then again what do you expect from boston

  6. From Philly. The WHA gave the Flyers this win. No McKenzie, Sanderson and no Gerry Cheevers. Also, the WHA put Parent back in the nets for the Flyers as they had traded Bernie in 1971 to Toronto. No WHA……No Flyer Cups. 48 years since they last won one in 1975.

  7. Schultz always got his clock cleaned when fighting true fighters. 80% of his penalty minutes are for mugging unsuspecting non fighters. Highly Overrated.

  8. O Reilly. Was out of his mind. Remember when he fought an opposing coach in the tunnel?
He was so nuts they made him the coach of the Bruins.
    Those were the days.

  9. Nothing better that watching the Blowin's fold like a cheap tent against the superior Flyers team.
