Artemi Panarin’s hat trick lifts Rangers past NHL-best Bruins 5-2

You’ve had a lot of victories in your career Jonathan and uh tonight was another exciting one yeah absolutely uh yeah it’s a this is a tough building to win in it’s a great hockey team we’re playing against uh but uh you know and they came out hard we uh but I felt like

Slowly kind of took over the game and you know we we played a great second and third we kind of controll the pace there and that’s uh you know that’s what it takes to win the games and again you you’re playing without a couple of top Defenders just speak to the Blue Line

Play tonight oh they were awesome like just uh limiting their chances and how strong they were down the net um strong they were at the Blue Line turning pucks over to you know push it back down their end um you know was just another great performance out of those guys they’ve

Been doing that all year for us so it’s uh you know it’s a pleasure playing behind them you know Bradon speak to that’s a heck of a win for your Hockey Club yeah obviously uh they were number one in the league coming in this game

And to get come here and get two points is was massive that was a a hardfought game I thought in the second and third period we played a great game and playing a great game in the second and third what did that look like to you I

Thought it was just simple I thought uh we were getting pucks out whether it was just a flip out or clean and we were just taking it working it down low taken to the net keeping keeping it simple delivering pucks and limiting their chances so I thought it was a good game

And can you just speak to Jonathan Quick you established a record for American great the whole game in the first per especially but yeah unreal unreal guy so glad he’s on our team Legend yeah I can’t say enough good things about him he he’s an amazing player and an amazing

Person know you’re probably unlikely to talk about yourself but just the role that you and ke have played since tro up went down are you proud of the way that you guys have been able to to own that role yeah I think yeah when you lose a

Guy like troes he he plays some hard minutes and and he you can’t replace a guy like that on the back end but I thought me and me and ke did a good job at at at uh doing what we could out there and yeah I I think we we should be

Proud of how we played well me here that that’s a heck of a win for your Hockey Club yeah it was um um another big G big game for us um obviously against a a really good opponent um talked about the the magnitude of this game coming in and um

I thought we uh I thought we played well and from your perspective playing well how does what does that look like I thought I thought a lot of decision decision making and um just I feel like how structured we were and uh the way we battled I thought first period was maybe

A little bit favored to them uh but second and third I thought we uh we we played really well and um uh you know Come Away with the win that’s uh that’s huge for us and speak of that first period your golender Jonathan Quick has established that record for wins for an

American golender just talk about his game I mean he’s he’s um he’s been awesome for us all year he he um he gives us a chance to win every game and and and um the timely saves that he makes and and um you know like a first

Period like that when when uh um I don’t think we play a bad first period but but they uh get a few too many chances uh right in front of the net and he comes up big making making sure that it’s not a uh you know a bigger lead so it’s it’s

Uh it’s good you see bred you know scoring off passes now just when you’re in that kind of his Zone like he’s in just feel like it’s it all goes in the right way yeah I mean he’s he’s um the way he’s taken his his um I would

Say his goal scoring to another level um everyone knows how good of a pastry is and and uh he’ll find he’ll find guys where where um you didn’t think it was possible but now he’s been shooting way more this season and and it’s really

Paying off I mean he has a great shot so uh why not use it and um he’s been uh he’s been big for us all year and and uh um yeah like that the goals he scores in the second are huge for us and and uh

Really sets up sets us up for the third period so um yeah I mean you can’t can’t say enough good things about

Artemi Panarin only needed to beat the goalie once to tally his third hat trick of the season.

The Rangers forward gave New York a 1-0 lead on a wrist shot he threaded through the legs of a Boston defender and goalie Jeremy Swayman.

After the Bruins tied it, Panarin got credit for his second goal when Boston’s Jake DeBrusk knocked the puck into his own net.

“It’s a nice feeling, obviously, when you get that goal. But I was pretty honest, for my part: I tried try to pass,” said Panarin, who completed his seventh career hat trick with an empty-net goal.

“I got it on my side tonight,” he said with a sheepish smile, “and thank you.”

Jonathan Quick stopped 24 shots to help the Rangers beat NHL-best Boston for the third time in as many tries this season.

It was his 391st career victory, tying Ryan Miller for the most by an American goalie.

“Unreal guy. So glad he’s on our team,” defenseman Braden Schneider said. “Legend. I can’t say enough good things about him. He’s an amazing player and an amazing person.”
