  1. This makes no sense. Whatever you would get in return for Hutson has a chance of failing too. It’s a 2nd round pick we have very little to lose.

  2. Did anyone watch MtL get bullied by Vancouver yesterday?!?!? Its always the same thing these players ARE TO SMALL !!! Montreal needs to get bigger. All these young players are small … we need more players like Slav !!

  3. A lot of French media don't know what they are talking about. They just spew garbage for clicks. They were the ones saying Habs should get PLD at all cost. Thank GOD, Habs management is not dumb like these guys. He has potential to be like Quinn Hughes. Think about that. Do you trade that?

  4. I say trade Hutson and package him up with Caufield and send them straight to the Boston Bruins.

Slam dunk trade for the Habs.

  5. i saw alot of comments saying that they would consider a trade or do it in a heartbeat. I think you guys are forgetting that Lane Hutson currently has 92 points in 76 games vs Cale Makars 70 in 75 in the same league at the same age. Ik this doesn't mean much but who is gonna produce like this on the Habs blue line in the coming years if we trade him? We have plenty of picks that can be used to trad for developed prospects vs drafting another 17-18 year old. There is no need to continue the rebuild as it stands. Next year, with a top 6 of the big three, Dach, Newhook and out top 10 pick this year, we will be fine. The defence will need an upgrade, however, which is why we need to keep Hutson. We don't need anymore top 6 apart from the forward that we (should) pick up this draft with OUR first round pick. (this is my opinion of course).

  6. I LOVE Hutson but I think people are confused about what hes going to be. I think your high end is Quinn Hughes with the caveat that very few smaller D men are able to achieve what Quinn did this year. I think he's Werenski minus 2 or 3 inches- which is still very good- but if ppl are penicillin him in as a surefire HOFer (like.the guy in my league- lol!)- reality gonna hit like a falling piano. Top 20 guy? I'd bet on it! Top 10? I'd have that conversation- id think he gets there at least a couple seasons. Top 3 or better? Its a pipe dream marinated in fishbowl market sauce….

  7. Its not as looney as it sounds. The premise is sounds at least- i dont think he ever reaches the hype around him- at least as it stands now. Guy in my league has him in the Makar tier. Can he get there? Umm I guess it's within the realm of possibilities but the reality is there are a lot of ppl who put him there when the odds he ever hits that peak are probably under 5%. I think he's werenski minus two inches.

To all the ppl citing that ONE season in the NCAA- go look at that team before you push your chips all the way in…

I think he'll be good for the Canadiens- im a huge Werenski fan- but the hype is at another level right now. If any GM gave you the type of return a guy like Makar would warrant youd be silly not to consider it.

This is just habs fans being habs fans…

  8. What if it was zegras, a first -say you could draft Parekh, and some smaller pieces coming back? You don't consider that???

  9. That’s just Snake. He’s betting the world on Trevor Connolly saying he’s the best forward prospect behind Celebrini. He’s a paid troll. Ignore him.

  10. The Habs haven't had an exciting offensive defenceman for a long long time. Lane Hutson could be the one fans pay to come and watch.

  11. In light of all the picks the Canadiens have, it would make much more sense to keep Hutson. Trading him would add to the plethora of picks. Not much sense.

  12. I would definitely trade him if I knew I could move up to get Cayden Lindstrom. By the time he plays with big Club, you will be able to get another puck moving D in that time

  13. The season isn't over. They still have about 5-6 games left, included in the point totals, like last year.

  14. guarantee you if his name was Jean-Guy Charest the same guy would say he's untouchable, a generational talent and that the Canadiens should invest all of their resources in making sure his talent makes it to the team

  15. Welcome to Montreal. Where if your name is NOT Jean Guy Tremblay, Every French radio station, podcast, sports site and tv station out there is calling for you to be traded. Because " We need to Preserver la culture Francais tabarnak" .. It gets real tiring here Lego.. If it were up to them we would have PLD as captain and Suzuki, Cole and Slaf would have been traded for him already… They don't want to win. They just want to push their agenda. They will be happy losing with all Hometown boys. It is linguistic prejudice at its finest. Half these jerks despise the Habs. They are butthurt Nordique fans.

  16. I’m a Habs fan but not sold on Hutson! Sure he can put up numbers in Junior but can this small guy bring it in the NHL? Completely different ! He’s tiny and until he proves me wrong then I will stand by what I say! I think he’s overrated! We have enough smurfs on our team already.

  17. Lane Hutson is literally what Montreal has been needing in years, a reliable offensive defenseman. I'm sorry but Matheson isn't the guy and we haven't had one since Subban. If they trade him I don't care about the return I'm rooting for an other team. Been a habs fan my whole life and giving away our best prospect in my opinion would make me quit this joke of a franchise.

  18. If they trade him to draft that other super offensive defense i forget his same starts with a P
And get top notch big talent forward it could be possible
I wouldn't risk it guys beating macar's stats
To me (4 now) Slaf, hutson and wifi should be untouchable

  19. He's a unicorn and may become the best offensive def ever or may not…we definitely will have fun finding out asap when his NCAA tournament is done and he wins the hobie baker.
