I don't like the fit of Hanifin in Vegas personnally but he will still help them obviously crazy how Vegas just gets the best players available every year gotta respect it. Like the return for the Flames a lot especially since they avoid paying Hanifin the crazy ask he had in Calgary
Breaking News: Shohei Ohtani, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Tiger Woods, and Jayson Tatum all heading to the Vegas Golden Knights in massive blockbuster deal. It is reported the Knights have put their entire team on the LTIR until playoffs. It is also rumored that they are just getting started with deadline deals
Im pretty sure philly is only retaining 25%
Flames got fleeced
No regard for the cap…
How did Calgary not get more than this?
I want you to flood my feed dont think it’s a negative
Did Hanifin have a no move clause? How did no one top this offer?
Will Hanafin sign long term in Vegas? I thought he wanted to go to Tampa
Calgary guy here and really Hanafin is soft, doesn't hit, doesn't block shots, always comes out of the corner empty handed. Likes to fish around with his stick rather than check. Spent a lot of time fishing the puck out of our net too. He's like diet Bouwmeester, but way dumber. Gets burnt A LOT. Take the 1st (whatever year) and laugh.
The league needs to put a stop to the cap circumventing Vegas keeps doing. The cap needs to be active during the playoffs, so teams won't be able to cheat the system like this. The league should make an example of Vegas and fine them 1million at least, and should forfeit a first round pick too.
Miromanov got a 2 year extension with the Flames
It’s going to be a long rest of the season for me as a Tampa fan…isn’t it
cant be mad at Vegas until the NHL fixes the cap issue, Vegas is going for the cups good on them, its not like they started this! easy fix for NHL LTIR dont come of Cap or cap is also used in playoffs its really an easy fix for the league! my only problem with vegas is there treatment of players at times!! players on vegas now know there are going els where this summer gotta be a shitty feeling knowing that its impossible for team to resign everyone as already well over cap hit!!
I don’t get why teams all help Vegas. But I love how they always swing big. You know they’re gonna put their all into it playoff time from the ownership on down to the reporters.
The knights are the scumbags of the NHL
Hi
Why wouldn’t you wanna fold our sub boxes … that would be lovely 😹
Can someone please explain how it ends up being a total of 75% retention on Hanifin? Because it said that both Vegas and Philly retained 50%. Shouldn’t that end up equating to 100% salary retention?
Just out of ESPN:
To Vegas-
Sebastian Aho, Jacob Slavin, Jake Guentzel, Pavel Buchnevic, Matthew Tkachuk, Aleksander Barkov, Brady Tkachuk, Quinn Hughes, Jack Hughes, Luke Hughes, Austin Matthews, William Nylander, prospect Nikishin, Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon
Full 75% retained with a 32-team trade
Outgoing from Vegas-
2026 6th rounder, and future considerations
The mafia must be part owners of the Knights. The stuff they get away with is criminal. Turning into the Dodgers of the NHL.
Calgary could’ve gotten more for him for sure
Everyone so jealous of Vegas and just can't admit that their front office is better at navigating the rules (that every owner in the league and NHLPA voted on in the CBA). Meanwhile, the geniuses in Ottawa are painting themselves into a corner and giving away an infinitely better player than Barclay fucking Goodrow (who fetched a 1st) for a 3rd and a 4th, while also eating half his salary. But don't worry, Florida will upgrade that 4th a whole one round…if they win the Cup (those picks are also likely to be super late, if not dead last).
If someone else is better at playing the game than everyone else and the players have the power to change the game's rules but don't, maybe they need to wake up and do so.
GO KNIGHTS GO!!!!!
So Vegas sign Scott Neidermeyer and Chris Pronger…..
Very happy with Hanifin! Ppl just dont understand Stone is injured for life, he will never play the full 82 again so Vegas is always gonna have some extra cap space, with some of our aging dmen i think this is the perfect addition to the team
I dont see how they can re sign him do thay have at minimum 8+ mill in capspace next year? Cause that's what hes gonna command
So no point in watching playoffs this year.. Vegas will repeat. 🥱
As a flanes fan this is a terrible trade we basically got nothing for hanifin
This is bullshit
Meanwhile Vegas is addicted to losing
You can’t criticize a team for abusing the rules until they’re punished for it, but you can criticize the league for selectively choosing to punish some teams but not others
So bummed.
