I was one of them until the Colorado game, then I fully converted to “let’s see what this team can do” after the Winnipeg game, after Florida I started dusting off my “we want the cup” signs lmao.

After the panthers game we just played, they won me over. That was some playoff hockey. We had that same energy tonight

This person probably doesn’t even watch hockey. Just a miserable person doubling down on their idiocy.

I mean, I definitely want management to be focusing on building the team for long-term success, but as we’re passed the trade deadline and it seems that they are looking more towards the future, I don’t really get the vitriol behind this take. We get to have our cake and eat it too, with the potential for a fun playoffs performance without the pressure of going all in on this one season.

A while back I too thought we would rebuild. But I was optimistic for the future with Bruno and trotz. I was also wondering if satos was the only piece we COULD move cause of his reputation.
However I agree that the win streak turned me around. Not to mention the only things needed now with this success is small retool. Not a full tear down. And trotz brought in some pieces that seem to work well.
Anyone not watching how they’re playing now isn’t paying attention. We’re having a record year when EVERYONE was naysaying at the beginning and that gives me hope for the next few years. Overperforming still? Maybe, but that just means I can’t wait till we get EVEN better

There is a balance between the desire to contend and the need to look into the future. This team is playing amazing but the odds that this is the beginning of a magical cup run are still exceedingly low.
A full on rebuild is never a good idea imo, the sabres, coyotes, senators, and blue jackets are good examples. If you break it down so badly you just never build it up again. Or in the case of the red wings, it takes a long long time.
I still want to see Glass, Parssinen, and Evangelista getting ice time and askarov being the backup next year. But for the next month, hopefully 2 or 3, let this team be the best it can be and see what happens.

As someone who has watched a considerable number of games from my couch and once owned roller blades, I can say for certain that tanking is the only way to get a good team of puck stick.
