There could be a situation where McDavid wins the Stanley Cup in Edmonton while Auston Matthews wins Olympic gold with Team USA. If fans still say McDavid is better than Matthews it would prove my point that the NHL going back to the Olympics is pointless and worthless since fans don't care about the Olympics anyways. Oilers fans would rather have Edmonton win the Stanley Cup than to have Team Canada win Olympic gold in 2026.
