Florida Panthers forward Carter Verhaeghe speaks after his team lost 4-3 in a shootout to the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

The Panthers have dropped their past four — but are now 0-3-1 and three points back of the Bruins with two games in hand.

Florida had a 2-0 lead on goals from Matthew Tkachuk and Eetu Luostarinen; Carter Verhaeghe made it 3-2 late in the third before Artemi Panarin scored his second of the night to tie it.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 34 saves in a tough loss.

Florida was without captain Sasha Barkov as well as Gus Forsling, Aaron Ekblad and Dmitry Kulikov.

The Panthers are back on Bally Sports Sunday in Philadelphia at 6.
