Great Video, I absolutely love Lyon. I've been watching hockey for about 2-3 years now and there's just something about Lyon. He's made me into a red wings fan because of him. Trust in Lyon King 🦁
He's the only Wings goalie this year that I feel confident can make a big save when they need it. Can't believe he's signed for 2 years at $900k, probably the best contract in all of free agency this year.
Lyon is 110% the starter, but the Husso injury certainly helped him showcase how much he's improved and his consistency is really nice to see. Husso actually just got back, but of course Newsy is riding the hot hand right now and not fixing something that isn't broken. I'm sure Husso will slot in when Lyon needs a rest, but unless Husso is posting shutouts every time he's in goal, Lyon king is here to stay.
First order of business Stevie, sign this guy to a long term contract.

Bring in an established starter, a veteran, and an upstart. One of them oughta pop.
Even if Lyon falls to the .910 lvl. That’s pretty much all Detroit needs to make a playoff push. Husso and reimer barely qualify as back ups. When Husso makes his next start hopefully he can at least solidify a back up roll.

To be honest I was excited when we signed lion I wanted him to be the starter which now he is and I knew he was the reason Florida made the playoffs and why can't he be the reason we make the playoffs Detroit fans have been rooting for different lions for most of the year butWe are rooting for Alex Lyon
The crazy part is that he’s even better than his numbers. The wings have below average defense.
Lyon did an excellent job for us in Florida. We were sad to see him go. The Lion kings song was always played in the locker room. The guys loved him and us as fans well he gave us a playoff run that brought the 2nd Stanley cup final in team history. I’m a diehard panthers fan and now I’m a Detroit red wing fan. I watch him play for you guys almost every game since he got in. I wish and hope for the best for your team to rocket into the playoff with the talent you have and his help in goal. Go wings!

Moments before disaster
This aged really poorly, like REALLY poorly, they just lost 8-4 and Lyon like, couldn’t save a beach ball.
I think Lyon was given some chances to shine when Reimer would usually get his time, and then those few games they gave him play, he just showed up REALLY well for the Red Wings. As a Detroit native displaced in STL, I love seeing his quickness in the net. Last night Vs the the capitals, we had an 8-3 finish adn James Reimer was nothing but huge smiles for Lyon. I love the vibe they both have about net minding. So much positivity and Lyon looks fantastic. Even when he gets scored on, he seems to REALLY keep his composure and just reset himself in the net.
