THE FINAL BOX & CASE RECAP FOR 2023-24 UPPER DECK SERIES 2 HOCKEY HOBBY! ONE LAST CONNOR BEDARD ?

Welcome back to front the bench everybody’s always it’s Eric and today is the day the final hobby box from the 2023 24 series 2 hobby box case opening Series uh last video If you guys didn’t watch it I finished off the case of blasters uh for 2023 24 so uh ended off

Pretty good did a recap on that one once I was done with kind of the big hits and what you can kind of expect uh going to do the same for this going to go over all the hits kind of the the top you

Know 12 15 Young Guns how many I hit of each one of those guys along with some of the inserts and parallels and numbered cards and everything else that you might get if you do open up uh a hobby case uh so here we go kind of turn

The camera around get right into it uh and we did it last video box number 11 it took us uh you know 11 boxes before we could hit a Conor Bard so we finally did it there he is an all of his glory right there in the middle between probably the other

Two big guys right Zach Benson a lot of upside with him being so young and everything else and then Leo Carlson being the number two overall pick uh decided to drop him on the backdrop for the day um started off the series with the middle box on the top row uh that’s

How I started the series this was the middle box in the bottom row so see what we can do see what kind of luck we can get from this I think I haven’t done the the counted or whatever I think we’ve hit every Young Gun though so there is the

Chance that we’re going to hit aard in here or we have we have the chance I guess uh not guaranteed obviously by any stretch but uh from what I looked at real quick when I just looked at the checklist I’m pretty sure I’ve hit every single young gun that I need to that

That was on the checklist so we should be looking at a double so it’s kind of nice that we’re not kind of waiting for hey we didn’t hit this lowend guy whatever it is so like said potential uh and like I said I haven’t really went through all the cards too I haven’t

Really hit a numbered rookie I hit the Young Guns clear cut but I haven’t hit a numbered rookie yet uh as far as I remember so here we go karon Croc looks like we got a silver uh vet in the back and we got a

Young gun to start us off here too we got a uh instinctive of Jake tinger and then our first Young Gun is 321 kind of how we started off we started off with Kevin Kinski and looks like that’s where we are again with a Mario Ferraro uh in the silver behind

Him I think Kevin Kinski that was one of our young first Young Guns uh I’m pretty sure it was our first Young Gun when it came to the blasters but I think he was one of the first Young Guns we hit also um when it came to this whole hobby case

So may as well sleeve them up I think that’s two or three of these now same thing we’ll put it aside do the big recap at the end if you guys don’t know there is 12 packs per box 12 cards per pack you’re looking for hobby exclusives like uh Deluxe out of

250 the silver which is in retail and everything else like this that we just saw the silver out bur um the Delux out of 250 though the exclusives is out of 100 there’s the red Outburst which is out of 25 the high gloss which is out of

10 and the gold 101 um on top of that you also get one clear-cut Young Gun per case which we hit I think the third box in so like I said hopefully get maybe a numbered card here if we’re lucky we get Wade Allison there we go I haven’t hit one of

These yet we got the pink and the Deep Roots not numbered these are just a shorter print but hav’t it one of those different look with the pink it’s fine think I might have gone with a different color I almost put you know maybe go with like a a green foil

Or something just pink doesn’t really doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense for roots but is what it is uh we got panan and 3 2 1 Bill Sweezy so got the Chicago or the Chicago the Columbus Blue Jackets d man dman so kinsky is not a bad start swe Sweezy though

Definitely something up to the imagination there Mar Ferraro Jackie ases Mike Mat we got the Clayton Keller ecliptic we got a clearcut vet we got Jeff Carter this time I didn’t pull out the clear the clear cut vets but I think that’s obviously probably four of them now and then will coie

So Jeff car’s not at least he’s a legend got pull pull some stuff either get Superstars or just guys that have long careers that you know he could make an argument for it being a nice hit so Rasmus first l in Anderson Barack Nelson get Cole Coffield for Montreal we

Got is it Clayton Keller yeah Clayton Keller in the Deep Roots and Devon Levi in the honor roll so it’s hoping to leave The Best For Last the kinsky kind of makes me feel like that guy in the middle might not be coming back I don’t think he’s maybe you

Never know uh Nick schaltz Darren elers burkovski Joel Eric Steven Laurence we got V Mela uh in the speckled got Frank vatrano first time Allstar this year Frankie vatrano and Trevor zis in the we another one no tror zis in the portraits sometimes with the speckled I think that

Was more in The Blasters I’m all confused now but in The Blasters uh if you hit speckled I think you usually get like an EXT that’s like your extra hit card so you get four hits in a pack instead of three so Travis Boyd Jared mccan we got another canvas here Jake

Allen new bronzer guy we got speckled of capriso we got Philip guow just laying and praying and then next is kale MCC little portrait of kale Bard uh get one of those right beside me for the recap was able to pull one of those that’s a good

Uh does make sense right now does not make sense but I know I’ve hit a kale before same thing all just all messed up if I pulled it kale before in a hobby box or if it was pulled in the Blaster so don’t know if you get can double up

On them uh in this so lus allmark we got Zev and we got PCS of Johnny hockey and then not a bad one Connor Zer I think that’s our second Connor Zer with a oh we got another Legends got the Dominator so we’ll throw zeri in a sleeve real quick

Hit uh very odd for me in my blaster case and my hobby box case I’ve hit a lot of the same stuff I hit two Todd bruzi uh Legends canvas one in the hobby boxes one in The Blasters uh but I didn’t hit this one

Also hit like two doers in the other one but Dominator that’s sweet we’ll let him to the to the recap top five goalie of all time no matter kind of what way you slice it some may say the best goalie of all time um you know guy was dominant for for a long

Time uh the Dominator so uh Clayton Keller Chris kryder Kylie Yamoto Josh Manson we got Jake Allen and it’s not a bad box Ty K so we got cinski we got K we got NJ not looking for French Young Guns or anything anymore now the those French

Young Guns have been replaced by the silver Outburst so you can kind of really see kind of what’s going on not so hidden anymore sometimes people would miss it you know wouldn’t notice it says Jean Loop so Conor Zer Tyler uh Conor Tai K and Kinski that’s three pretty good names

So I said it’s kind of hoping for a numbered rookie so we’ll see if we can hit one of those here yuss SOS next Young Gun up is first carder heggy in the blue dazzlers so no bad dazzlers we got Trent Frederick in the director of boards and and we got for

Mitten so there’s our sixth young gun and we’ve essentially hit four guys that are all guys I was going to be highlighting in a little bit so hey not the guy in the red back there but that’s fine can’t always be him uh two packs

Left I said then we’ll get to the recap on the whole case itself we got Adam Henrik we got Ryan MCD we got colon SS we gotard Rael we got Tyler to Foley we got instinctive of Dary keer we got a deep root of stammer and we got a honor roll of eigor

Fanv so last pack this is crazy this is one of the more up and down roller coaster rides I’ve ever been on when it comes to uh opening up a case or boxes or anything just the hype the the good and the bad against it um like this I’m

Recording this the Thursday like the day after release day um just just so I can get all the stuff out and looking at potentially you know getting um you know some of the stuff graded so I want to get it out as soon as possible blah blah blah

But you know just just a fun fun opening uh like I said big big tick items here big uh big Price Less on the case so I got the monster seasons of McDavid we got the PCS of sasan noo and we got the Simon Edinson in the honor rooll so no

Numbered rookie no numbered Young Guns no Deluxe no nothing silver we got two of them but go through all that right now so not going to go through the uh inserts there is just way too many inserts like this is just from this box so let’s again just think 12 and then I

Have to divide them and everything else and so we’re not going to get into that uh we’ll start though with start with this pile so four kind of Cooler inserts canvas inserts we got the Dominator we got to ruzi and we got two program of Excellence so we got Brian mccab and we

Got Owen Beck so two legends canvases two programs of Excellence we got three one two three so must be one in every four boxes black canvas of the Vets so not the Young Guns next up we got fluorescent I’ve said it many times these look awesome this year you got one

1 two three four so we got three good names and then even you know whatever one to four isn’t that great of a name but Dustin wolf Brock Faber and Devon Levi are all pretty good names not numbered the red ones so those are just you know one in every four boxes

Essentially or one in every three boxes sorry uh we got the pop count 100 or 1,000 I’m pretty sure in series one we hit maybe that’s cuz there was a lot more of them uh not quite a thousand or 500 or whatever but I hit like three of

These I think um in that I did hit two highlighters of the same guy of pasta that was kind of odd uh two Deluxe so I hit two Deluxe one being Backstrom one being Jordan Martin hook so these are out of 250 hit both of those hit the Jordan kyou out of

100 and hit the red out burst out of 25 for Sam steel jersey number I only realized that later when I went to list on eBay but jersey number Sam steel 13 out of 25 uh also hit this insert Conor Bard sold it uh night of release uh it sold

Overnight after I listed it and went to bed woke up the next morning it was somebody hit bid uh buy it now at $80 Canadian so I’m not sure what that’s going for now but you guys can kind of I’ll put it up there what it was selling

What it sells for now um and then we’ll get into the Young Guns so obviously Bard and Leo Carlson those are our you know our two big guys only hit one of each uh in this hob box uh a hobby case surprising enough I actually hit one of

Each in my blaster case so that’s uh that’s something uh uh when it comes to the better guys we’ll get rid of against Hugh but we’ll knock him off of there and same thing with Billy Sweezy uh we got the checklist so we got one checklist that’s all we got for that

We got Mackie we got one of Alex uh leier Mason Lori is actually who goes with Bard so if you see him in a box you’re probably going to hit a Bard in a minute Ty K we obviously just hit a second one of that uh so where did he go Tai K

Boom two Tai KES one uh stanislav spille uh two Kevin kinsky cuz we just hit a second one there boom uh Pavo mikov we hit one of those in the base Bobby man hit one plra hit one Fraser Mitten just hit the second one uh Dimitri ronov hit

One of those Conor Zer we just hit the second one for that Zack Benson we hit two of Zack Benson said only hit one of the Leo Carlson and one of The Bard uh into the Young Guns canvases we hit a checklist of luk L Hughes and Logan

we hit a jake Livingstone we hit a William defor we hit an Archer silov and we hit a walker doer so essentially out of all the guys you can hit you have the chance of hitting Luke Hughes and Logan and all these guys uh we

Weren’t lucky enough to hit any of those guys uh the big boys so we just you know got a couple of the middle middling guys this one’s probably the best one that I think just for you know could be worth something one day you never know what goes next up we

Got one black canvas it was Bobby McMahon so not a bad name there Leaf Sky everything else uh if I’ve sold this by now I will pop up what it sold for but I did have it listed we hit two silver so essentially these are now I think before

They were one and every like two and a half or three boxes in series 1 these are now one in every five boxes so we weren’t didn’t beat the odds we had a 40% chance at hitting a second one or a third one sorry didn’t happen uh hit a

Wal Terry morela because he just follows me around now apparently uh and then Pavo minov we hit one of him and then our clearcut was Justin seriff so right winger young guy he’s only 21 I think 22 later on this year or something like that but younger guy so

Could be worse Young Guns to hit for sure uh he’s probably right around the middle of the pack you know in that 20ish range uh 20 25 range out of the 50 Young Guns so he’s probably somewhere in the middle for just you know collectibility potential everything else um

Yeah that was the case uh Bard it really came down to that um I got lucky I think a lot of my stuff’s in half decent shape um I got to check for print lines I got to check for surface and all that stuff I haven’t really had a chance to like

Get the cards out really look at any of them I’ve kind of just been when I’ve had a minute jumping in front of this camera and uh you know ripping and everything else it’s kind of been what I’ve been doing this entire time I just

Uh trying to get it finished as quick as possible uh just so like I said I can prepare to you know open up some other stuff uh and go from there so was the success a second Bedard would have been great uh I guess when when I

Hit the the first one in in box 11 I didn’t have a I had a little bit of Hope um and like I said obviously you can see I I doubled up on a lot of decent Young Guns but you know like I said time recording these are going for 350 360 a

Box uh same thing when I go to release this I’ll put it right down now right now what it kind of seems like they’re going for in Canada um from some of the big box stores I’ll kind of just like average it out just throw a number down

There I’m assuming it’s more I’m assuming this is probably like a$ 400 and something dollar box right now I just this is probably a week and a half later uh this is yeah probably at least a week and a half later I’m assuming yeah it’s probably a $400 and something

Dollar box uh we’ll put the Connor Bard price you know down there does Conor Bard price make sense right now probably not you know none of it makes sense right uh the people say it’s going to be a $200 Young Gun I don’t know everyone’s everyone’s got their opinions I know some people

Say well it’s been printed of the moon and the probably you know five times as many badar as there are uh you know mcdavid’s guess what if it if there’s 10 million or 2 million does it really make a difference I know that sounds rude but

Like and kind of odd but like if if it’s a base Young Gun it’s not like you know you’re you’re you’re going CRA like it’s still a young gun you can go buy a Conor McDavid Young Gun every day of the week there is no shortage of Conor McDavid

Young Guns there is no shortage of PSA 10 Conor McDavid Young Guns there are literally thousands of PSA 10 Conor M Young Guns same as Jack Hughes same as any of these guys Jack Hughes Young Gun gets up to $600 in a PSA 10 every couple

Months like and he plays for New Jersey and he’s American like you know doesn’t have the hype behind a Bard and didn’t come in looking as good as Bedard uh and has had injuries issues like he’s every time he gets injured his price goes down some

But you know there was a time when you thought maybe it’d even go higher like $600 $700 whatever it was um so the print run it’s a lot don’t me wrong but people talking like The Bard Young Gun is going to be worth $50 um in six months if he stays on the

Same trajectory like obviously if he goes and doesn’t score a goal for or a point for 30 you know the last 20 games of the year and he gets hurt or you know yeah maybe see some but still probably not to the same price uh as what some of

These people are kind of saying like saying that it’s going to be like a100 $200 Young Gun like lafy dropped yes but it’s because lafy just was underwhelming um it just was what it was like it just there’s so many things to consider with this um I was kind of

Hoping Leo Carlson would have a little bit more of a bump I know as of time recording uh he’s had an okay year same thing battled some injuries everything else on a bad dck team um but like I think I already saw like his young gun

Was getting down to like 60 bucks uh day after I haven’t checked since like this morning I’m pretty sure it was like $60 or something like that which he’s a number two over all pick generational another guy that’s going to be a generational Talent whatever you want to call it would have

Been probably the first overall pick in any other draft uh same as you know van Tilly could have been first overall pick in in most other drafts um and just to see that their numbers aren’t as high for their resale you know is that The Bard effect because everyone’s just chasing Bard

Nobody cares about anybody else probably um you know takes a little bit of people to talk about how you know when they pull these guys they go hey look Zach Benson’s a really good young player you know playing in a true rookie season got drafted last year made to the big Club

Playing Leo same thing missed a little bit at the start of the season but boom he’s in as a super young player uh you know producing and and playing and you know everything else like I don’t know what needs to happen to see some of the

Values go up a little bit for some of those secondary guys but you know it’s the same thing with McDavid uh his year when you got you know ranton in and Larin and all these guys and their prices is kind of that secondary guy in that set um I was hoping maybe this

Would not that I think Leo should be and I don’t know what B di prices are right now say they’re a th000 bucks still I have no idea say they’re th000 bucks not to say that Leo has to be a th000 bucks too but you almost thought I was kind of

Hoping I’ve mentioned this in other videos I was kind of hoping that like maybe it kind of got to the point where it was kind of like football or basketball where you know football 2020 you had Justin Herbert and Joe burck you could have a couple guys two you could

Have a couple guys at the top you know sell them for a good chunk of money basketball had Zion and jaw and you know all these other guys over the years um where you had a couple guys sell him for that upper echelon price um you know

Then OB everybody else kind of you know pans off um I was kind of hoping that and that kind of gives me makes me happy that Fen Tilly and Logan aren’t in this set um that they decided to put them in extended um if that’s kind of

Going to be the case with Leo Carlson’s price or even Zack Benson’s or any of these guys if they’re just kind to be kind of a you know 20 30 440 $50 a young gun um for being as good and as promising as they are you know I it kind

Of makes me happy that maybe that those other two guys are in it so let me know what you guys think like I said it was a fun series um tried to enjoy it as much as possible like I said definitely got sweat when I was you know no buter for

11 boxes I’m like oh I’m really I was hoping for two and then I was like uh I’m really looks like I’m only going to get one so uh two just obviously helps out substantially when it comes to like hey I made some money back on this thing

Um or put money more back towards it like I said it’s all a gamble ripping a box is a gamble whether it’s a $350 box or $150 box um I’ve opened up you know $150 boxes where I get $7 worth of cards you know at the end of the day it’s a

Gamble you you gamble with what how much you want to gamble uh or you just go buy the singles that’s another thing it might not be a bad thing that Leo is only a $50 or $60 Young Gun or is that Z Benson’s a whatever he is right $30 $40

Like maybe that’s a good thing you can just go buy the singles you don’t have to rip the packs don’t take the gamble of losing you can just buy the good players right and invest in them or collect them or do whatever you want uh

Now it doesn’t make hard to do a set and have clber dard in there when he’s a th000 bucks yep but you know it is what it is so hopefully you guys enjoy this like I said hit that like hit the Subscribe if you guys want to consign
