Been seeing a lot of “svech needs time off or benching” from fans.
Kids clearly in his own head and frustrated but, he needs to play through it. It’s not like the teams better without him in the lineup.
Rod has taken notice and is thankfully having conversation and working with him. Getting this situated before playoffs is key.

Glad Rod’s handling it. Agreed I’d rather see him get his head back on straight than on the bench, but at the same time intervention of some kind is definitely warranted. Hope we’ll see good things from him tomorrow night.

only thing on my mind is i hope that he gets his shot back. he’s still sitting at almost a ppg while playing “bad” i have the utmost faith in Svech turning it around

Cant wait for the “Svech has scored X goals or X points since he had a 1on1 with Rod” posts! I feel like he’ll bounce back here soon

“Bench Svech” from the same people who brought us our previous hit singles “Trade Necas” and “Anderson has to go.”
The Doomers will just all shrivel up and die if they don’t have one person on the team to bitch about.

I’ll reiterate what I said in the pgt: I think he’s better off next to Aho. I also think the 2nd line was better with JG, and we really need both lines gelling and going hard.
I would be strongly tempted to just go back to the SAT top line, JG 2nd, Jarvis back with Marty and Staal. It looked like we had a lot of pop the few games that happened and I want to see us explore that more.

There are people that want to bench Svech?

Gotta play him through it and Rod knows that. Rod is still looking for combinations that consistently work. With this much talent it is easy to find something that works for a night or two. Svech seems to work best with Aho and I have a feeling we’ll see more of those two with Jarvis or JG alternating some on the other side for awhile to try to get #37 really going.

Svech has always been streaky. It’s gonna be fine
Let-us-eat-cake98
He’s young. He’s just gotta find a way to channel his emotions without getting in trouble on the ice.

He’s been streaky his whole career. Better that he has this slump now than in a month

We need to send him to a U2 concert and then cancel it last second.
Worked for Nashville.

I feel like it’s not normal for Rod to bench ppl unless it’s poor effort. Svech is just in his own head, which has happened before. It’s certainly not lack of effort. We’re all patiently waiting or maybe impatiently waiting for Svech to snap out of his funk.

Obviously us fans are more smarter than the professional coach who actually works with the players

It’s my fault because I’ve left my Svechnikov jersey in the laundry room for the duration of his slump. I will be wearing it to the game tomorrow.

Man I thought my 1:1s at work were intense. Imagine having Rod the Bod standing there.

Good. He can’t be benched, but he also needs to show some maturity here and start finding ways to contribute positively. It’s his sixth NHL season. Needs to be handling the highs and lows better at this point.

Bench/ waive KK.

I hope this works.
Svech has so much potential and is an awesome player, but lately he seems lost and is taking a stupid number of penalties (I do think the refs watch him more than other players)
Something needs to happen for him to get through this, hopefully this 1:1 is it before it gets to having him miss a game or 2.
I want to go to the playoffs with a happy, healthy team…. Especially Svech.
