“They couldn’t come back because of the work in the first two periods” while that’s true, it’s also a horrible thing to say as a coach. The leafs are known for playing 30 minutes of a 60 minute game and now we know why. No wonder Edmonton almost came back from 5-0, no wonder they blew a 3-0 lead to Carolina, no wonder they can’t win a playoff series. The team shuts down defensively and the effort goes out the window in the third. Pair that with extremely MID goaltending and you understand why they’ll never win a Stanley cup with keefe or the core 4.
