Will Ivan Fedotov be joining the Philadelphia Flyers? | PHLY Sports

It was another busy day in Philadelphia Flyers world today, and PHLY Sports’ Charlie O’Connor is on the ground in Montreal to break it all down.

Goaltender Ivan Fedotov’s KHL contract was terminated today, and it certainly appears that — nearly two years after he tried to come over for the first time and instead was detained and required to provide a year of Russian military service — Fedotov will be coming over to embark upon an NHL career. What does this mean for the Flyers’ remaining nine games, and also the team’s future in net?

Charlie breaks it all down, including updates from general manager Daniel Briere on goalie prospect Alexei Kolosov.

  1. The dam has broken. Flyers looking at major depth at Goalie. Errson, Kolosov, Fedotov, Bjarnason, Zavragin. Who wouldn't want to play Goalie with how Flyers play team defense.

  2. So if you come in the legal there's a lot of B S to go through. Walk in through Mexico you're in. It's back ass wards

  3. Boy, it sure would be nice if the Phantoms were a playoff team to give these guys some opportunity to get acclimated to the smaller ice.

  4. Its only good when those feet hit us soil thats when they are on the team. Until then its like we dont have them . All the politics are Fucking up this world

  5. Amazing how they have to go through all this red tape bringing over goalies when you can just walk over the border with no papers

  6. Its just so strange to see a guy we drafted literally 10 years ago to finally get his chance now, and after all this legal drama too.

  7. Also its probably for the best that they had to wait on him, since it allows them to add him while they're actually on the upswing rather than the last two years where they were utter trash and playing solely for draft position. If he had to play those two years he may have just up and left entirely before we ever became anything.
