What’s up everybody Katie Gau alongside Casey midat one of the newest members of the Colorado Avalanche we just landed here in Edmonton getting ready for a big matchup but Casey one of the newest guys on the team so of course we want to get to know a little bit more about you so

We’re going to attempt to play some Bubble Hockey while also chatting about who you are growing up in Minnesota all those good things so uh let’s get this game started uh I’m red you’re my goalie is broken first to three if we can get there all right let’s do it sound good y

All right um okay so first things first talk to me about growing up in Minnesota the state of hockey was hockey always something you wanted to do uh yeah I mean as long as I can remember my parents didn’t play but um my dad put me

In it right away and uh yeah that’s pretty much that was pretty much it sense um and I know you have two brothers um they also went to Minnesota where you played uh talk to me a little bit about growing up oh that’s cheap broken goalie is

Broken it’s all right um so you’ve got two brothers uh tell me a little bit about growing up and playing hockey you guys are all kind of close in an age right yeah um I think they’re three and four years younger than me so they’re they’re pretty tight and oh boy um yeah

A lot of knee hockey and uh we had a little rank in our backyard growing up so so we just pretty much played hockey our whole lives all the time obviously you spent a lot of time in Buffalo like when you were first starting out you

Know like what was it like for you were there like players that you know you looked up to took you under your wing cuz you were obviously pretty young when you came into the league yeah of course um yeah the first couple years we obviously a little hard but um there’s a

Lot of great people in Buffalo I mean I think of guys like uh kylo poso and Jeff Skinner and um me and Rasmus dolene as well spent a lot of time together for sure so I think those three guys probably had the biggest impact um yeah Skinner really took care of me a

Lot so I owe him big time for sure I like it this is oh I can’t do anything goalie uhoh oh no another goal he’s winning have you made any friends with some of the guys on the team or connected with anybody since getting out

Here yeah I I think it helps too that there’s so many new guys we’re all at the hotel together just kind of hanging out so um and then a bunch of guys it’s actually really nice to have a long road trip and you know get to know guys on

The plane and away from the rink so um it actually worked out really well really well that way for me what was like your first reaction and impression of just like what makes you excited about being an avalanche yeah I mean I think I’ve watched a lot of a lot of the

Games obviously with how many good players on this team so um something new for sure but at the same time super excited I mean how good of a team and organization so very excited I love it that’s awesome all right we’re tied at two so next goal wins we’re going to

Call it that all right let’s do a little uh let’s do a little like rapid fire uh how about you’re from Minnesota so I’ve got a hunch that you like country music but what’s your go-to Yeah country music for sure um like Eric churcher Morgan Wallen probably yeah love that um yeah

Easy answer what do you do in the summers in Minnesota like I know you said you like golfing is there anything else like you guys do like Lake boat anything um I actually for being a Minnesota guy I don’t go on the lake that much

But um I mean honestly we played a lot of golf a lot of golf that’s pretty much most days and then uh you know some pickle ball my family’s pretty big into that now so okay uh pickle ball and basketball pretty much just a bunch of different sports to be honest what about

Like movies or shows you have like a series that you really liked or movies I don’t know I’m more of a show Person some people I like show better too I I would agree with that I think oh that’s that was pretty nice timing works wow so

What’s the show for Choice show of choice I love friends um Entourage uh movie wise I mean The Dark Knight is probably my favorite movie so you can’t go wrong with that exactly you’ve already got the goal under your belt so now can only get better we’re so
