This media blitz all the sudden on the Petterson contract is wild – I wonder which powerful entity out there decided to make this the top story. Anyways, the worse he plays the sooner he will crack and sign for 8 years. His camp probably saw Matthews get 4 years and decided they want a deal similar so Petterson can re-up in a 3-4 years when the cap is higher and he is still young enough to have the leverage to demand a 7-8 year contract as an UFA
