The Vancouver Canucks lose to the Los Angeles Kings 3-2, Anze Kopitar, Brock Boeser, Sam Lafferty and Kevin Fiala scored, Nikita Zadorov with some nice hits, Drew Doughty was excellent off the diving board, but overall, the Kings play a style that scares me come playoff time, I don’t know how I’d feeling going up against them… but we’ll cross that bridge if we ever have to face it.

Any team that faces the Canucks in the first round should play this style of shutdown hockey. The Canucks and Rick Tocchet can’t overcome this style of play and can’t work around it as evident by the three LA Kings games and the recent Washington Capitals game. I had concerns about whether the Canucks can compete against top teams in the league after the All-Star Break and this game does nothing to change that. Teams like the Nashville Predators, Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes have gotten so much better after the All-Star Break, meanwhile the Canucks lost the swagger they had in the first half of the season. They’re only first in the standings because of the strong first half of the season, but their record after January is not that good at all. Not only that, while Lindholm is great in terms of playing defence and winning face-offs, he isn’t the player that we hoped he would be and hasn’t elevated his game at all in Vancouver. Considering what we gave up for him, he will likely walk for nothing in the offseason as I don’t think the Canucks are giving him more than 7 million. Pettersson and Boeser have also been underwhelming since February.

the only disappointment for me was the goal the kings scored on the line change gaff. other than that the canucks played a good game. i hope mikheyev has a strong finish for the rest of the season so possibly they can move him this summer. no hands. no imagination.

I don't understand why anyone would want to watch the Kings. Like it's so boring and if we played them in the first round that would honestly be kind of sad. I would be bored to death.
Regardless of how “boring” people think Kings hockey is it’s clear as day that it’s effective. The Canucks absolutely need to be able to beat teams playing this style or there’s little hope for a deep run in the playoffs. As a Canucks fan I can respect the game plan from LA and they exposed a lot of holes in Vancouver’s game overall not a huge believer in the whole lucky bounce things but sometimes that’s what’s needed for the W. Bad game from the Canucks and the Kings took full advantage. Still waiting on quite a few key pieces off the IR but any loses taken now needs to be learned from.

I watched the first period, skipped all the second, and most of the third. Boring hockey and the 12 minute game recap was all i actually needed. Boring 🥱 and lacking any give and go. The last 6-7 minutes was decent

Brock Boeser is horrible in his own zone. 1:16 The way he let Dubois just steer around him was just mind boggling. That resulted in the first goal. Why doesn't he put any effort into playing defense? Does he think he can get by on just scoring goals? Like just look at the total lack of effort during that play. He just coasted after Dubois got by him. Zero effort…sad.
