We will take a look at the new goalie for the Philadelphia Flyers Ivan Fedotov as he took on the New York Islanders in a crucial late season battle. We’ll cover all that and more in today’s NHL hockey video!
Hate to give them anything, especially something that should be simple good sportsmanship, but props to the refs for not penalizing the Flyers for Fedotov forgetting to move to the other side.
Ivan Fedotov kinda reminds me of the late 'Pelle Lindbergh' with his 'all-white mask'….at 6'7" he would cover the net well, he doesn’t have to play at the top of his crease, or outside the blue paint! Philadelphia may have finally discovered a hidden gem in goal from the 2015 draft emerges as a standout performer!
As a wings fan, I wish the flyers and wings could both make the playoffs. It would make such a great story for both teams. I pray for the caps downfall so it can happen
Vasilevsky, Bobrovsky, Sorokin, Shesterkin and, finally, Fedotov – they are all elite, not to mention Kochetkov, Tarasov – 12 russian born goalies in NHL , insane
man idk if its just me but i hate it when goalies dont have matching pads lol. Dude has bauer pads + stick then true glove + blocker idk why it bugs me so much 😂
FedOtov is the correct stress in Russian. However, the rules of stress in English names are different, and native English speakers often tend to put the stress on a different syllable that naturally feels more fitting for them. For instance, the Blue Jackets broadcasters have VorOnkov, MarchEnko and PrOvorov, when the correct stress is VoronkOv, MArchenko and ProvOrov. Another glaring example is Carolina's KochEtkov (as per broadcasters) vs. the correct KochetkOv.
If anybody is intrested, Fedotov went to the wrong side of the ice because in KHL, where he played before coming to the NHL, teams dont switch sides going into OT
Had a friend in high school who never played Football. Lined up on the wrong side of the ball against us his first game. As soon as the quarterback hollared. Refs called him offsides..
If i remember correctly, Fedetov wanted to play in the NHL a few years ago, but he hadn't completed his mandatory military service in Russia. Since he's not Ovi or Malkin, he wasnt exempt. He tried to escape but was caught, put on a submarine and sent way up north.

I am a big fan of the football-style numbers on the shoulder pads that are starting to pop up on NHL jerseys.
🇷🇺💉
Fedy looked good from that small sample size, best of luck to him!
Not bad for first nhl game ever
I really hope Philly holds on for the playoffs; they're a fun group.

torts said after the game that it's embarrassing to be a flyer right now and its so true, hopefully fedetov can help that
Can’t be bother to say his name correctly and went with a “whatever”. Such disrespect.
Well what’s Carter Hart doing these days? 😇
your channel is dope bro

He is 2 times taller than Saros
So why was the flyers goalie pulled???

fed-ah-tov rolls off the tongue easier than fed-oh-tav. Change my mind.
Иван Дмитревич Федотов
Ivan Dmitrevich Fedotov
Fedotov is pronounced “Feh doh tov”
I aint a flyers fan, but man, they have been fun to follow this season.
Fedotov was pretty solid for his first game.
Yeah, it's pronounced FedOtov correctly, you have right sources) and Carolina Goalie is KochetkOv

ахаха, очень забавно!
Удачи, Иван! всё получится!!!
Imagine him in 12 inch pads
Look at that nice and shiny goalie
Good luck to the kid. Hope he does well.
I think people give more to size than should. I'd much rather have a small, fast and nimble tender than a giant who relies on that.
As Russian I can tell it is FedOtov. On the first O.
As a native speaker, FedOtov is the way to go, very nice of you to consider checking the correct pronunciation!
Wonder if Varly said anything funny to him 😂

This guy is gonna suck they just think he will be good cuz he is tall
It’s pronounced FedOtov
Team was SOFT in front of Fedotov as Tortorello said. I can't agree more. And another disaster in overtime.

fedOtov
i was at this game, it was awesome. but we lost
That away jersey looks like a mess. Somebody couldn't make up their mind with what direction to take and ended up with that.
All the russian names that end with a v, sound like an f. It's just north americans who don't bother learning the actual pronunciation.

I was there stadium was hype!
Good goalie in nhl24 since the only thing that matters is height I. That game lol
"I see puck, I stop puck, correction, Ice is slippery, puck is sneeky. Puck must be punished. Goolog for Peter Puck"
Russia just has a way of producing massive goalies. We will see if he can live up to those who are already here.
1:09 On russian people emphasize in his surname like fedOtov, idk why someone calls his surname differently, but I guess it would be wrong
Bro's the new Mikko Koskinen
6’7… Damn.
