This is a product of them getting bounced early. When players make a run, they typically are ready to move on, but they left meat on the bone and he probably feels a bit responsible. That said, Cooley said the same thing last year and then went pro. If he gets to camp and feels like he belongs, I’d bet he’d sign. In the moment things feel different

Sounds fine to me. Where would he play here next year anyway? Without trades our top 9 is pretty full

Urgh. Not sure how that helps him at all.

This is the best possible outcome. Let him develop more. He will be a perfect 2nd liner when he is ready. Plus Dalibor is also waiting in the wings. The next year to 2 look promising. Hopefully people won’t lose faith in the note. If anything comes out of this season it’s what a great player Neighbors has become. I’m so happy to have his young guns. I would love to get it signed.

Wonder if he wanted a guaranteed spot.

What do you all think he is getting paid at Minnesota? I know basketball and football players are the big money getters, but Minnesota hockey probably gets a fair amount of booster support.

Anyways, didn’t his two line mates last season say they were gonna return but then turned pro anyways?

It’s scary that he’s going to be one year closer to being an UFA, but we kind of had one too many forwards signed for next year if Dean and Bolduc are rostered all year.

  8. I feel like we’re getting Vesey’d for some reason

As a fan, I’m disappointed, but as a realist this is probably for the best. Snuggy wasn’t going to be an impact player for another couple seasons at the earliest anyway. There’s room for growth at the college level and his play down the stretch did raise some questions about whether he’s ready for the NHL.

  10. Kid’s not even 20 years old yet, it’s not the worst decision.

In this economy, who wouldn’t want some free education.

Brings a smile to my face every time Jamie Rivers is proven wrong.

Fine with me, one more year of seasoning could be great. Could be in a similar position next year to hop on board the team near the end of the season for a more realistic playoff push.

Also learned his brother is our new local NCAA team’s equipment manager!

I can’t make heads or tails of this one…
