  1. Call it copium, but until I see the first 2 home playoff games, I’m not hitting the panic button.

Not worth stressing or overreacting to.

  2. They’re just playing galaxy brain chess, lulling all these playoff teams into a false sense of security. At least, that’s what I tell myself to cope.

More copium – We still have a strong record overall vs the top 10 teams – that means we must have dominated the good teams earlier… right? That’s…something? Right?

  4. esteemed-colleague

How many of those games did demko start?

  5. De_Floppss

    3-6 vs Vegas

    1-3 vs Stars

    2-3 vs Kings

    1-2 vs Caps

    3-4 vs Avs in OT

And then literally the 3 games before the Avs game are 3 wins vs playoff teams

    5-0 vs Jets

    3-1 vs Vegas

    2-1 vs Kings

Almost as if our losses against playoff teams are coinciding with Demko’s injury. Don’t get me wrong we have not looked dominant/great for a good stretch but this seems like a cherry picked stat to make us more doom and gloom. Sure it’s been a lot of up and down lately but who cares about regular season, we’ve made playoffs and anything can happen in the playoffs.

Honestly fuck the copium. We are fucked. The whole makeup of our team has been falling apart and its showing no signs of getting better until Demko is back in net. Even then i dont have a lot of faith in the defence in front of him to get their shit together. Allvin has a lot of work to do this offseason.

Edit: SURE. Fucking downvote me for going against the narrative of the thread. If you’ve been watching long enough though you know you’re lying to yourself because we are out in 5 games whether you like it or not.

Dan, uhhh, Riccio, uhhhhhh, said, uhhhhhhh, this?

  8. Pyrokid113

I pray for a 100% healthy Demko for the playoffs!!

  9. Canucker22

Basically the Canucks hopes of going deep into the playoffs rest on Demko being healthy and playing well when the playoffs start. But that is to be expected: the west is going to have 8 very good teams make the playoffs with many series that could go either way depending on health and which teams get hot at the right time.

Gotta re-assemble the lines that worked.

  11. Sad_Donut_7902

That’s not good, but the team has also been missing Demko (important) and Lindholm (not as important) for all of those games

its looking more and more like this team is going to get humbled. Are we goinf to rely on Demko coming back from an injury to save games? thats not going to work for more than 2 series’, probably wont even work for one.

I think we should play Silovs a bit more, see if he gets hot for a couple games, and rest both DeSmith, and give Demko a slightly longer runway for his return…

I am not sure if this young Canucks team celebrated too early during the all starweek. They were so good prior to being named to the all star and maybe they got overconfident and let off the gas. This is a long season, they need to keep going.

  14. hoglander2033

yup and right before this stretch we walked over la, vegas and winnipeg

“If the Canucks keep playing like this they’re getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs”

Could be a quick exit, sure. That’s the game. I don’t think this team is a favorite to win, and that’s fine by me.

I just feel it’s a waste of time panicking about it. As far as I’m concerned, just watch the playoffs and we’ll see. Whatever happens happens.

  16. aristhought

didn’t take long for the doom and gloom to be back lol. not saying we’re sailing to a stanley cup but it’s not like the team can’t have a couple of bad games in a season of really good ones.

wishing a speedy recovery for demko though because he does make a difference
