Anyone else remember when everyone was saying Suzuki’s contract was one of the worst and that it was an over pay last year? What a game. We're honestly improving and are playing fantastic. Last year at this time we were absolutely doing awful. When we get Dach next year and more development I think we will be a wild card team. We might be a .500 team this year!
Also i didn't see anyone mention it but Caufield scored an absolute beauty and looked like a superstar to me but just without that confidance a sniper needs. Hot take: Caufields getting 50 next year
I have a friend in Slovakia who is a former junior hockey player, now a wine importer, he follows closely the progression of Slaf and watches the Habs's games (lots of new Hab's fans in Slovakia is what I understand) and he wrote to me yesterday that the country is extremely proud of him, that Slaf was already a huge star there when he was picked first, but that he is getting even bigger with his success, everybody knows about him and is proud of how well he is representing his country. What a guy! Just 20 and look at him going! The combination of that killer happy smile and that physical play is awesome. "Let me crush you into the Board with a board smile of pure joy".
There is something very consistent between those two first Montreal picks the last 2 years: Slaf and Reinbacker are both big and strong, can play physical no problem, are smart, are eager and open the learn, are good passers, puts the team first, are happy young men, and both very mature for their age. The right skill sets but also the right mentality, and that is how you build a winning culture.
Do you know if Mesar and Beck might go to Laval this year if they are eliminated in their playoff in the OHL? Is it possible?
after celebrini the next 7 to 8 guys can all go 2nd…so I'm fine if the habs win a few games.

Reinbacher will need some time to adjust to north american rink and also NHL tough hockey. But no doubt he will definitely be playing in NHL if not next season. Noorul
Reinbacher should not be rushed. Play him in the Ahl for at least half a season. Habs have rushed too many prospects to the point of ruin. Learn from the Bergevin era and don't make the same mistakes.

Yes, we in Slovakia love Slaf, now we also love Habs 🙂 I watched almost every match, even when it mostly started at 1:00 AM and I have to go to work at 7:00 AM 🙂 Also, almost everybody was criticizing the Slaf, but I know he is great player and will be match better 😉 Greetings to ALL Habs and Slaf fans from Slovakia 🙂
Back in the fall I was practically begging HuGo to make a pitch for Lafrenniere when the Rangers were considering offers. Too late now. He has emerged, and has put the Rangers over the top. Still wish he would have done his 'emerging' in the bleu-blanc-et-rouge. Huge missed opportunity for us…IMO he would have been a better acquisition than either Dach or Newhook.
Along with Armia, Harris played another quietly strong game tonight. Obviously some guys have to go over the summer, but I hope we keep both of them. Move Dvorak, Barron, Kovasevic…while they might still have any kind of trade value.
AHL next year, then NHL after that

We would have 2 great lines and an incredible shutdown line and the 4th would be a great combo of young up and comers.

Wow nick sukuzi 32 goals! And I’m always so so happy to see that first line get the point and help the team to a big win! One thing is I hope that reinbacer stays in Laval next season because we don’t want to rush him like we did for other players
If reinbacher comes into training camp and proves he is one of Montreal’s top six defenceman then how can you start him in the AHL?
I think he'll start in Laval with Hutson so they can build a bit of chemistry and also because Barron and Mailloux will probably start with the habs.
Reinbacher is our next Doug Harvey. If he is wins the job in training camp he should play with the Habs.
