Crosby just made NHL history

It is Wayne Gretzky and now Sidney Crosby. That’s it. That’s the list. Last night as the Pittsburgh Penguins came into Madison Square garden to face off against the New York Rangers, Sidney Crosby made history becoming only the 2nd player in NHL history to record 19 seasons as a point per game player. Truly an astonishing feat that shows Crosby’s dominance from first breaking into the league to this very day at age 36. Despite the Penguins having one of their worst seasons in the Crosby era with an over 90% chance they miss the playoffs for the 2nd consecutive year, it certainly hasn’t been due to the fault of their captain Sidney Crosby. Coming into to tonights matchup against the Rangers, he had 10 points in his last 4 games and found himself just 3 points shy of recording yet another point per game season for the 19th time in his career. It was a game where we saw Jonathan Quick celebrated for becoming the winningest American goalie in NHL history, with 392 as he received his silver goalie stick. We had Igor Shesterkin getting a little heated with Crosby as the two went at it a bit and we definitely saw some feistiness after Rakell laid a questionable hit. We had an EBUG in the building, the Rangers had a controversial goal called back and of course Sidney Crosby made NHL history. I cover it all and more in todays NHL hockey video!

  1. After last night's game in NJ, I heard something about him being the only player in NHL history with more than a point per game in 19 seasons.

The reason I saw was Gretzky had 1 season where he had 48 points in 48 games, thus giving Crosby sole ownership of that record. Does anyone know if that is true?

  2. Congratulation too Crosby 👏🏻🎉 he deserve it he plays all his heart out for us pens fans I do have too say thanks for the great season of hockey 🏒🥅 sid the kid I am a huge pens fan pens for life 💪🏻👏🏻🎉🖤💛🐧🐧🐧🐧🖤💛🐧🐧🐧🏒🥅🏒🥅💪🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

  3. As time goes on my respect for Crosby just increases. Pushed through the concussion issues, fantastic player all around and very modest. Hats off to you!! (From a Ranger's fan)

  4. I am 20 years old, and this legend, Sid the Middleaged Man has been putting up 82+ since I was born, absolutely insane

  5. Great videos man, shout out from Dartmouth NS! Hard not to idolize Crosby being a young hockey player in the Maritimes.. Cheers

  6. Second best player in my Life Time ( saw them all ). Well deserved. True knock me down and I'll get back up player just like Wayne. No rolling around like a "Lemieux" out of water.

  7. For me the video is just too long to find out what Crosby tied Gretzky in although I did watch the game last night in which he scored and they came back and beat the devil's with like five unanswered goals.

  8. Ovi is one year behind Lebron and Sid is 2 years behind. How come nobody makes a big deal about their longevity in their respective leagues? Everyone kisses Lebrons ass for playing a soft sport for 20 years.

  9. The ending is so true… they are all so privileged to have had parents to push and guide them into professional sports. Im glad someone is enjoying this lifr

  10. I know that Gretzky played in a "easier" era of hockey but his stats are just simply unbelievable and to have players equaling or getting close to (Ove for the goal record) its way more impressive. For instance if McDavid gets 100 assists he join Orr, Lemieux and Gretzky and Orr, Lemieux only did it once Wayner did it 11 times cause you know he's "the great one"

  11. Gretzky was sheltered and promoted by the league. Don't believe me, ask Bill McCreary who leveled Gretzky (in only his 2nd NHL game) was benched for the rest of the game and never played in the NHL again. This was his punishment for making a legal hit with the "grate one" looking down. Why was he looking down? Because he never had to worry about getting hit.

  12. By the time Sid retires he’s going to be cemented in the top 3 all time players even while being robbed of three of his prime years due to concussions. He is a complete player and the best of his generation. McDavid will likely pass him barring career altering injury and is the only one that can hold a candle to Sid.

  13. Definitely one of the best players of all time. Probably in the top 10 of all players and top 5 forwards.
