As a newfoundland growler fan im now sad 😢
I, and a lot of Blues fans, feel that Snuggerud Staying with Gophers is a good idea for both him and the team–IMHO, he's a good prospect and the extra experience in college will benefit him in the long run. Sidney Crosby is a truly elite player and a for-sure Hall of Famer, congrats on that unique milestone.
So so sad to see my Newfoundland growlers go😢

Mario & Wayne had incredible wingers throughout their great careers. Think of what the Pens have surrounded Sid with for two decades. Pascal Dupuis? Chris Kunitz? a season or two of Jake Guentzel? Crosby has been mostly surrounded by scrubs and put up first ballot HOF numbers season in season out.

Canes are loaded with great players. Jarvis has been brilliant and fun and is super young. Morrow and Boom ready to fill in when Pesce leaves in FA. If Necas is smart he stays with the canes.

If Leafs can get Marner to wave his NMC, Leafs could sign Guentzel this off season and sign Crosby as UFA after next season.
Totally sucks all around about the Growlers. Don't see why the fat cats from the Leaf's franchise can't cut a check to keep them going. Crosby would be ranked in the top 5 of all time I would think. Torts needs to find some better methods to motivate the players.

Re: Habs vs Panthers: Habs spanked them 5-3. Habs have played well against top teams this year (for the most part) and looked good vs Fla.
Re: Flyers: the playoffs are in their hands and Torts is right…..they are soft and folding like a cheap tent. They need to get their game together if they want to make the postseason.
Re: Habs/Canes: the Canes got exactly what they deserved re: KK. Habs dodged a bullet on that one….good riddance KK. I like the idea of Habs going after Necas….a solid young player. Make it happen Kent.
I think Torts has it out for Morgan Frost because Morgan 's old man, Andy Frost wouldn't play his song request on Q 107 several years back. LOL!

A few personal reflections on your choice of topics, here, today:
1) Major respect to Sidney Crosby, on reaching this immense career milestone🎉👏. To have played on for so long, at such a consistently high level, on Pittsburgh teams of widely varying degrees of quality (from the Stanley Cup-winning teams of past years, through to the disappointing playoffs-missing group of last year's vintage), really does take a huge amount of dedicated, year-round hard work. Hopefully, if Sid opts to remain with the Penguins for the remainder of his career, then he will get another run or two at the Stanley Cup playoffs, before he hangs up his skates for good….and I say that as a Red Wings fan😁!
2) Very sorry to hear of the sudden demise of the ECHL's Growlers, in Newfoundland☹️. It's always very sad for a local community, when a well-liked and well-supported hockey team suddenly relocates or, as in this particularly unfortunate case, simply folds altogether.
Good luck and commiserations to all of the players, coaches and support staffs concerned, as they begin their unwanted search for new employment opportunities elsewhere, in the coming days.
3) John Tortorella has now clearly pressed the 'Start' button atop his 'Wearing out my welcome mat' clock, in Philly. Despite his undoubted hockey pedigree and savvy, Torts seems incapable of changing his tune much at all, these days. For him, it's ultimately always about Torts, with his players, team fans, the media, etc, all coming in a distant second to the man's outsize ego. His comments this time around were foolish, ill-timed and immensely unwise, too. More of these sad weekly antics prior to season end, will surely see at least some Flyers players start to aggressively tune out their overly emotional distraction of a coach, no🤔?
By the way, Bruce Boudreau's calm, sensible take on this latest Torts outburst, over on TSN, is well worth a look for anybody who may not have seen it yet.

Necas is one of the best skaters/stick handler in the league and a dynamic forward. He is ready to bust and his trade value is very high right now. It will come down to Necas or Teräväinen staying. We lose Turbo for nothing or get a great return for Necas. It would be huge if he could add a 2025 1st in the package for Necas from a non-playoff team looking to gamble on their playoff aspirations next season.
