WTF is up with R. Smith? His two penalties last night were because he either over committed or stopped moving his legs or both. Man he has been terrible for the penguins this season. I hope he finds his game but some where else next year. Rak is looking better lately but I just realized last night that doc has the same goal total and has been way more noticeable most night because of the other thing he brings (forecheck, speed, defense, etc.). I think Rackell is useful and will bounce back next year but smith needs to go. Bunting has been a welcome shot of energy and I agree he is bringing that line together. Keep bringing the BOOM!!!!

If the Pens beat washington in regulation, I would say its very likely they get in.
I wonder what Bunting would be like on 87's wing? He has a Kunitz, Hornqvist, or Gary Roberts vibe to his game. Still perplexed Dubas (of Toronto) didn't sign UFA Bunting (of Toronto) last summer, when he's a perfect fit. Pens vs Caps better be a regular season "playoff" game. Sid, Ovi, and Geno are all scoring right now and this has the makings of a "playoff game". As a matter of fact the Pens have 7 games left or a "7 game series" with opponents like the Capitals, Red Wings, and Islanders. Let the "playoffs" begin!
Smith stays in the bottom 6 the guy doesnt fit with Sid or Gino and when DOC and Bunting are doifn their jobs you dont kill that momentum. Smiths looked serviceable on the third line with ellar but for the love of god hes gotta go this offseason

Another player that can’t be discounted with this resurgence.
The ESP line had its chemistry I think they need to work on getting that back because if we can get that I dare say all lines are firing on all cylinders
So let me get this straight. We could very well have a Top 10 pick this year and keep it (giving next year's pick to SJ) if we continue to not get Ws. If we DO keep getting wins and make the playoffs, we could very well be facing the Canes in the first round, the team WE WANT TO GO TO THE FINALS to get the best pick via the Guentzel trade.
I absolutely love Michael Bunting. Yes he’s not Jake Guentzel, but the Pens have lacked a player like him since the Chris Kunitz Patric Hornqvist days. He’s gelled nicely with this team.
Geno looked like a kid when he was scoring last night. All smiles.
Geno had his best game of the season in October @ Washington (4 points)…maybe he can replicate that magic tomorrow night
