It was an emotional night in Winnipeg as longtime linesman Ryan Galloway — who’s been officiating NHL games since 2002 — called his final NHL game. The hometown linesman was highly-respected in the NHL community, and every player from the Jets and Kings took time to shake his hand.

Congrats! What an honest reaction, sincerely he was proud to work in the NHL, he loves and respects the game. Players don't just treat every linesmen like that and it showed. Enjoy watching the Jets in the playoffs Mr. Galloway!
Hockey is just the best.
I’ve never heard of this linesman, that’s why I know he’s a good one.
The Jets should see if he can play defense.
Great moment!!!
Thank you for your amazing work in the NHL. Enjoy your retirement!
I absolutely love the respect and appreciation for a great man and career.
Really tougher than what people think to refs in the nhl to do it for 20+ years is insane! Well deserved! Good retirement
Shout out to the few fans that stayed cheering for galloway, those fans are the hearth of hockey
These officials are the unsung heroes of the greatest game in the world. Unlike the players who deservedly get the pay and respect, the officials are just there in the background doing their job day in and night.
Their travel schedule is atrocious and the amount of skating and physical work they do on a nightly basis is mind-boggling.
