JETS BID EMOTIONAL FAREWELL TO BELOVED WINNIPEG-BORN LINESMAN

It was an emotional night in Winnipeg as longtime linesman Ryan Galloway — who’s been officiating NHL games since 2002 — called his final NHL game. The hometown linesman was highly-respected in the NHL community, and every player from the Jets and Kings took time to shake his hand.

  1. Congrats! What an honest reaction, sincerely he was proud to work in the NHL, he loves and respects the game. Players don't just treat every linesmen like that and it showed. Enjoy watching the Jets in the playoffs Mr. Galloway!

  2. These officials are the unsung heroes of the greatest game in the world. Unlike the players who deservedly get the pay and respect, the officials are just there in the background doing their job day in and night.
Their travel schedule is atrocious and the amount of skating and physical work they do on a nightly basis is mind-boggling.
