Caps blood drives?

Hey y’all,

Prior to the pandemic I was one of those legions who regularly donated blood at the Caps INOVA blood drives at Kettler. Haven’t heard of one in years but I’m wondering if I just fell off distribution. Do any of you heathen know if they still trade blood for bobbleheads?

No, they stopped at the beginning of the pandemic and never started back up. I’ve called and asked multiple times since then, and they have no plans to bring it back. I try to ask on their social media every once in a while, but rarely get a response. It’s a shame, I have every single one.

What I was told by Inova Blood Donor Services is that Medstar is now the “official health care provider” of the Caps and bought the naming rights to the Iceplex, so the Caps are no longer willing to host drives associated with a competing hospital group.

I’ve wondered for awhile too. But look on the bright side, none of the Inova Caps bobbles ever looked like their counterparts anyways.

I traded my blood for bobbleheads for years. Including beginning of the pandemic.

    Switch to Medstar killed it

I’m surprised you have any blood left after all those donations!
