REPORT: VANCOUVER CANUCKS “VERY FRUSTRATED” WITH ELIAS PETTERSSON CONTRACT SITUATION (NHL News)

REPORT: VANCOUVER CANUCKS “VERY FRUSTRATED” WITH ELIAS PETTERSSON CONTRACT SITUATION (NHL News)

Okay before we get into this entire conversation I wanted to bring up one point that I know is going to pop up in the comments but we have to nip this right in the bud before we dive into it so you can say that when it comes to the

Vancouver media when they talk about stuff and people like me for example make YouTube videos about it that we are feeding into this cycle of fear mongering and clickbait and talking about stuff that isn’t really worth talking about because we want listeners we want engagement we want retweets

Replies comments etc etc look this is the sentiment that I think makes the most sense within the context of Vancouver and the Vancouver connects fans you can say that this conversation is making a mountain out of a mole hill yet every single time there is a mountain of discussion about it all over

The place the media is just doing their job and giving fans what they want to see and fans by all right want to see this drama since they’re engaging with it so much and you can say that part of what makes this you know kind of

Distasteful in a way is the media or people like me in my position radio folks writers on social media talking about this over and over and over again trying to farm those engaging clicks but look what I’m doing here on YouTube is just recalling what was said like today

This is from earlier today on halfred and Bruff on sportset 650 we had comments made by Elliot fredman we had comments from Frank sarra we had comments from Yanik Hansen all of this is pretty much from today or yesterday and so when it comes to this Vancouver thing literally everybody is talking

About it so what do you think I’m going to go out there and not highlight what’s been talked about more and more let’s go over to our newest update from hord and Bruff from earlier today talking about how when it comes to the Alias Pon conversation Jason Bruff goes out there

And says this on the radio I asked someone a lot more dialed in than me yesterday how frustrated are the Vancouver Canucks that Alias Pon won’t come to the table the answer was very the Vancouver Canucks are very frustrated with how this is going on and before we go over onto the other

Comments I wanted to go back to the subreddit because there are some Illuminating conversations that respond to the Canuck’s apparent frustration that ilas Pon is not coming to the table and not trying to resign he did say he wanted to wait until the offseason he made that very

Clear so either he signs in the offseason or we trade him in the off season I hate this trade deadline speculation but the responding argument says that’s not really how it works though without knowing Alias Peterson’s number AKA is dollar amount we can’t move forward with working on contracts

For honic Bluer joshwa or any of the other pending ufas leaving everything until the last minute this summer isn’t a recipe for Success pet initially said he wanted to see how the team played and that he wanted to win as being his main hesitation we’re now first in the league

And that seemingly isn’t enough to even talk the fact is that the initial talks between the GM and his agent haven’t even started that should also be a little bit alarming I’m not expecting Pon to sign tomorrow but the team should have an idea on what PD’s Camp is

Wanting at this point and they don’t another reply says yep exactly people don’t understand this isn’t necessarily about PD only it affects what the team can or can’t do with the other ufas as much as I like py it’s a team game they have a lot of guys that also need

Contracts as well and this is fine normally when you talk about rfas oh you could just wait until the summer to renegotiate whatever whatever but when you have guys like Bluer and Joshua that are going to be ufas when you have guys that by the time the offseason comes

Around they’re going to be free agents it’s tough to really commit dollar amounts to them when you don’t know how much the most expensive player on your team is going to cost it makes things difficult and so the Canuck’s frustration in this part makes sense and

There are a few replies that go out there and say that it’s fair that PD wants to do it but it’s also fair that the organization can be frustrated with this approach yeah they want to be able to know his exact number to also plan out other contracts but it’s also just

Security in knowing of the future as well regardless of anything though even if Alias Pon told the connects today hey I’m not resigning a trade still won’t happen until the off season so it’s an exercise in patience but an understandably frustrating one there are some extra comments here saying I don’t

Share the py said he’d talk in the offseason so all is good sentiment he’s likely now holding up other guys from signing with us who want to stay with us and it’s holding up Alvine for building a cup winning team Pon said he wanted to wait and see how the team plays well

We’re number one so what’s the holdup then and then you could debate that the holdup is that he didn’t expect the team to do this well so he just used that as an excuse to try to maximize his value which we did talk about in yesterday’s

Video how Pon could be going the Austin Matthews route wanting to sign shorter deals so he can keep on maximizing his value over and over again as the cap goes up not committing himself to a long-term 8-year contract that would potentially be seen as a steal of a

Contract for the Canucks in 3 four 5 years to be fair though you could also say that he’s been trying to wait until he gets back toback 100 Point Seasons this would increase his value on the market and then the reply kind of cynical says yeah okay so here’s 12.125

Million per year rather than 12 because you got 100 points what does that mean not even his pace is not likely to change dramatically in 20 games it won’t affect the number because he’s already projected to be 100 points or close it’s actually a bad gamble for py purely on

Numbers because an injury is much more likely to occur which would negatively affect his contract extension than anything that could possibly positively affect it and then another reply says honestly I just don’t think Alias person wants to be here and when it comes to that idea we did have ourselves Frank

SRA go out there and talk about this earlier this morning as well says I do think it’s odd that P hasn’t signed this is not about money by the way I don’t think the kaks put a12 million a by 8year deal on the table there’s a lot of things that Vancouver has accomplished

But this entire thing is looming over them and so with sarahy saying that it’s not about the money you kind of have to go out there and ask okay what is it about well let’s turn over to yanic Hansen because he made an appearance on sportset earlier today actually like an

Hour ago pretty much he said that if he’s not committing this summer I’d trade him his intention is not to stay furthermore to this idea we had ourselves fredman going out there and pretty much responding to the same idea that Bruff goes out there and talks

About in the radio I don’t think the Vancouver conects are thrilled that Alias Pon is not signed and this is news they’re very capable of handling the noise as well as anybody could Jim Rutherford always wanted to be a GM in a Canadian market and I think he loves

This I do think he enjoys it I think he enjoys the passion I think he enjoys somewhere where it really matters I think he can handle this but teams are calling them and saying what’s going on with the pon signing and this kind of feeds into what we were

Just talking about right the media the fans everybody here is crazy you won’t see this kind of trade conversation going on with the locals of the Arizona Coyotes unfortunate but that’s just how it is this Vancouver Market is so crazy in that fans will eat anything and

Everything up in regards to new updates and so when something like this gets put onto the airwaves yeah the Canucks are apparently very frustrated with the Alias petson negotiations this from earlier this morning then it gets even crazier in Vancouver and this is is why I also separated everything too like I

Get it not everybody who watches my channel is a fan of the let’s say click baity kind of you know updating rumor kind of stuff but hey we had some positive rumors which is why we made this video here the Phil kessle Jake gensel video it’s right there in a

Separate thing you can watch that video and completely ignore this Pon conversation but for the folks who like the drama stick around for a little bit longer because we did have a little bit more that was uh put out there here’s what Arron gafar went out there and said

On saris and price earlier today the kxs did want an answer around the deadline from Alias pson as to what he’s going to do the focus is to try and sign him he’s just a different dude he really is he’s to himself he’s really quiet and the

Funny reply goes out there and says hey Pon is like that girl you’re seeing that won’t commit to a relationship because she’s finding herself what a strange character this guy is I want to be on a winning team the Canucks are in first place wait I didn’t mean it and then

They have the notebook r goling Rachel mcadam’s thing I’m just Ken by the way being performing at the Oscars I cannot wait to see that live but furthermore to the dramatic side of everything that’s going on you had yourselves Jason Bruff the guy who shared that this entire

Thing was happening the frustration get into another argument with Tes from this entire thing I mean look this Canucks media Canucks social media replying sub tweeting and getting ticked off kind of thing I mean Jason Bruff went out there and called this this guy a or whatever it was like it’s getting crazy

This elas Pon contract negotiation is dividing the city its media and its fans in such a weird way that I can’t help but not talk about it right so if you’re a fan of the Vancouver Canucks then let me know your thought process firstly about this entire thing here how media

Social media people on the radio people like me how we’re making a mountain out of a mole hill of Alias Pon not resigning yet and how there is a big conversation that always seems to happen every time this kind of thing goes on what are your thoughts on the media

Cycle and even the fact that I’m covering this in a video here what are your thoughts on the Canuck’s apparent frustration that Alias Pon isn’t even coming to the table what are your thoughts on whether or not he’d actually get signed or not if it’s up to me if I

Had to place a bet on it I’d say peton is coming back but that’s just me let me know your thoughts in the comment section below I hope you enjoyed this v99 and bye

  1. Goodness gracious! The media really needs to just needs to stop all of this. If Pettersson could be pushed away from wanting to stay in Vancouver, this is exactly the type of stuff that would do it. All the fear-mongering, click-bait, and media hype is just making the situation more difficult for Pettersson and the Canucks organization.

  2. i'm sure EP is going to leave. he's not going to say anything till the season is over. could you imagine what he would get with all the home games left to play here? i'm already thinking about trade possibilities which is second to free agent signings as my favourite hockey related things to do.

  3. offer him a full no move clause and whatever length he wants, 4,5,6,7 or 8 years at 11 mill and if he say's no or doesn't want to come to the table just trade him already, drama queen

  4. Very surprised at how quickly this blew up and dominated discussion. Can't blame you for covering it at this stage because it became too big not to talk about. The idea preys on the big fears of this fanbase. I really don't want to put so much stock in hearsay but as others have pointed out this originated from local media. Who stands most to gain from this being out there? Rutherford egging Petey along to get the deal done sooner so he can focus on cooking elsewhere? Petey's agent trying to get more money and signalling to other teams to try and go after him harder and drive up his rate? Media folks taking advantage of the lack of any real Canucks drama and striking gold?

  5. get rid of him – he isn't worth 12m – too soft for playoff hockey – i'd rather get a couple of really good mid-tier workhorses for him and have 4 formidable lines

  6. For those who think it’s a slam dunk he’s resigning can you name me another player who has acted the way pettersson has and then resigned.

Cause I can’t think of one. It’s usually the player wanting more money or term as the reason they aren’t signed if they w add it to be somewhere.

Nobody says I want to play somewhere but don’t even talk to me for the whole year that I’m eligible to resign I’m not even going to tell you if I want long or short term , I’m not going to tell you how much I want and good luck making player personnel decisions with that unknown.

  7. If you are going off what petty said about wanting to see how the team plays then why aren’t you going off what he says now? Which is he ain’t thinking about it till after the season as he is only thinking of winning games? BecuSe you want people to view your posts so you repost what someone else says ?

  8. All good players in the final year of their contract and haven't resigned by the TDL, the rumors start to fly,   Most of them are completely unsubstantiated. Unless the source of this rumor was EP40, his agent or Allvin I wouldn't read too much into it.

One thing I don't understand is why anyone listens to Seravalli or Pagnotta. They make a lot of predictions but they are almost never right.

  9. So what if Management is frustrated. Petey has already told them that he won't talk contract after the 24 season is over. Nothing changed and nothing should!

  10. European players just do not play as engaged as Canadian and US players, for the most part. I can see from Petterson is looking for greener places. Still not a hardcore player like other playoff players like Stone or Miller. I am a 48-year Canucks fan.

  11. There is a huge difference between Lego and Elliot Friedman. Elliot Friedman starts the fire and Lego is just reporting on it.

As a follower of this channel, I appreciate the difference and updates.

  12. I think and this affects all the players at this point, that he is so badly managed by his agent. I mean if he really has an offer on the table of 12 mio/y he should just sign. Why is his agent not advising him to sign? Vancouver is a crazy place to play and with all this noice it only affects petey and his play since he did not play as a top player, right? And therefore a 12mio/y deal is still very very good. The whole drama situation about petey doesn’t make his play better and the deal on the table doesn’t get any better. 😮
