  1. the $20 bonus is cuz 20 is ahos number this was done cuz the canes r still salty about that

  2. Bergevin was not able to get KK under contract before Lehkonen & Poehling. Either the negoiations with KK were going nowhere or Bergevin dropped the ball while the Canes lined up KK. Also should be noted that whoever has KK this year does NOT have to qualify him at ANY level next year if they extend his contract before the end of the coming season.

  3. Why hadnt he already been signed. Kk was treated horribly by the habs, good luck to him. Big loss for the habe

  4. There is one thing that no-one has though of yet. Yes the qualifying offer is 6.1+ million. But a team can still sign him to a long terms contract with AAV that is lower than that. If let's say a 5 year deal is structured like this: 1. year 6.2, 2. year 5.5, 3. year 5, 4. year 4.5 and 5. year 4, then the AAV would be 5,04 million. So if you take the one year bet and you think you can sign him to a contract like this then you are good. It's totally possible he can have 20+20 season next year making him worth that contract. He just turned 21, if the Habs do not match, they might regret if he has a good year in Carolina and they extend him to a contract like that.

  5. You mad at KK? How about if you would not have made him a healthy scratch at the start and at the end of the playoffs, then he might have not accepted a deal like that. You reap what you sow.

  6. I love It I need more karma to hit the franchise that drafted that douche Logan.

  7. This is a dumbass revenge move by the Canes and an even dumber move by KK to sign it. $20.00 signing bonus wtf ; doesn't KK realise he is the butt end of a joke. I agree that $6.1 mil is very tempting but its only for a year and who will pay him that kind of money next year if he doesn't produce. Bye Bye KK , Mtl should take the picks.

  8. Habs can use those picks + to trade for a top center, they will be better off!
Canes are stuck with a big $$ salary that it will be very unlikely KK can live up to!
    Stupid is as …..

  9. Kk my not on the surface be worth 6.1m. Give the right linemates and equal opportunity to make mistakes without a punch in the face .And the ice time you will see the real player! Your going to be paying Suzuki around 7m. Think about it.

  10. I don't think he's worth it, most people aren't sure that he's even up to being a second line C. I think KK is pretty great but I don't think matching is smart, take the picks, look for another top 2 C through trade.

  11. Was this well thought out by KK and his team? His bar is now 6.1 for next year at a minimum. So if he doesn’t play well this year the Canes would probably walk away from him…are other team’s then obligated to sign him at that level or can his value them reset to reflect his level of play?

  12. This certainly opens up a spot for Poehling but is it too soon for him? What centres are out there that remain free agents?

  13. take the first and third round pick, trade them with another first round pick for Jack Eickel.

  14. Good for KK. Sticking it to the HABs for playing with his head all for the last 2 years. Always changing his line mates, mostly non=scorers. He maybe not worth the offer but how many HABs are worth their salary? Very few. Maybe Romanov will be the next to skip town.

  15. Let him walk 🚶‍♀️. He is not worth 2.5 million let alone 6.1 million. Go get Dvorak or put Poehling in there. I think he is going to do well this year.
