oh that was on purpose by motte for sure!!! no one swings there elbow like that during a normal hockey maneuver, perhaps he thought there was a big hit coming?
Finally found a clip of this and man pens fans are unreal. I swear every hit a rangers player throws is called illegal by them. Like i dont think Motte even knew Petry was there, just ringing the puck around the boards and then boom runs into him and straight into the elbow.
That DEFINITELY looked intentional! He knew Petry was coming around on that side and there's no reason why he needed to stick his elbow out like that just to swing the puck along the boards
Of course no penalty. Ref is standing right there watching but major markets must win at all costs. The NHL doesn't care about player safety, only the bottom line. Major markets make money.

Rangers practicing their playoff elbows to the head.
Totally coincidental….tough luck…
petry skated right into motte’s elbow who was following through on playing the puck
pens head hunt motte the entire next shift and still cry about the elbow. you cannot make this shit up
Petry ran his face into Motte’s elbow.
He knew what he was doing, dirty elbow. No call on the play either
Anyone that says that was on purpose has never played hockey along the boards
that guy who hurt petry should get a disqualification for 2 games at least, that's not right at all.
idk looked like an accident, motte isnt that type of dude

if you think that was on purpose, watch it again and again until you realize you're wrong
