There was a line brawl off the opening face-off resulting in all 10 skaters getting five-minute fighting majors and eight getting game misconducts, leaving the teams with 14 skaters per side.
From the Rangers, Jacob Trouba, K’Andre Miller, Barclay Goodrow and Matt Rempe all received game misconducts. Kurtis MacDermid, Chris Tierney, Kevin Bahl and John Marino were the disqualified Devils.

We've only swept the Devils twice previously: 2015 and 1994. Both were years we won the presidents trophy, 1994 we obviously won the cup. Everything is set up for a deep run, but what's most important is that we translate this mentality into the playoffs. Resilience is how we made the ECF in 2022, now we have the power to make it even further. Overall great game, absolutely dominated them. Aside from those 10 minutes in the 2nd period we looked fantastic. Line brawl was entertaining, glad our defense was able to withstand those extra minutes. 3 wins away from franchise history, let's do it. LGR!!!
