Irfaan Gaffar on if Bains can be a regular with Canucks, Tanev, Mikheyev, Pettersson contract

Irfaan Gaffar stops by with his take on the game vs the Avs, including the NHL debut of Arshdeep Bains. The guys get into whether Bains might actually be a part of the solution moving forward, and where he fits in. Irf also chimes in on the pursuit of Chris Tanev, and the update on Phil Kessel in Abby.

  1. Bains was great at finding loose pucks. He looked a little nervous defensively, but i hope they give him some more games

  2. I thought he played well. He makes plays. If Blueger could finish better than Bains would have got his first point last night.

  3. Touching the ground before setting foot on to the ice in the Sikh culture is a sign of respect and honor. It’s also a blessing from the higher power before you enter the battle field….. hopefully Bains can play well and stay in the lineup. All the best Canucks we are proud of you boys this season !

  4. Just signing Kessel and then worrying about his performance isn't just the only headache for the Canucks going forward. If Joshua and Soucy come back and there are no more significant injuries incurred, putting Phil the Thrill in the lineup will also involve making a player on the current roster they want to keep waiver eligible. This wouldn't be a problem after the trade deadline, but they have to sign him before.

  5. If Hronek's next deal starts with an 8, I think the term there should be no longer than 7 years, but if his camp elects to take the maximum term, I think the deal's AAV should come down under 8
