Robin Lehner is #40 For The Ottawa Senators. The Robin Goblin Stands 6’3 Tall 220lbs and Was Born on July 24th of 1991 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Robin Played 2 Seasons For The Frolunda Indians of The Division 1 Elitserien League From 2007-2009. Lehner Then Represented Team Sweden at The 2009 World U18 Tournament Finishing With 3-1 Record and a Fantastic .916 SV% and a 2.80 GAA. Robin Was Then Drafted By The Ottawa Senators 46th Overall in The 2nd Round of The 2009 NHL Entry Draft (This Pick Was Acquired From The Columbus Blue Jackets as Apart of The Pascal Leclaire and Antoine Vermette Trade in 2009). Then For The 2009-10 Season Robin Split Time Between The Sault Ste.Marie Greyhounds of The OHL and The Binghamton Senators of The AHL, Winning All 2 Games He Started That Year For Binghamton and Playing 47 Games For Sault Ste.Marie Winning 27 of Them and Finishing The Season With an Outstanding .918 Sv% and a 2.80 GAA. Then Next Season Robin Turned Full Pro Playing For The Binghamton Senators of The AHL Full Time, Appearing in 22 Games. Robin Then Represented Team Sweden at The 2011 World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo, New York Helping Team Sweden Capture a 4th Place Finish. That Same Year, Robin Got His First NHL Victory Against The New York Islanders, Making 20 Saves For The 6-4 Win. In The Spring of 2011 Robin Led The Binghamton Senators All The Way To The Calder Cup Championship. He Was Named Playoff MVP and Finished The Playoffs With an Unbelievable .939 Sv% and a 2.10 GAA. But During The 2011-12 NHL Season, Robin Got His Chance in The Show When Craig Anderson Suffered an Injury To a Tendon in His Right Hand and Robin Stole The Starting Job From Alex Auld and Has Proven To The Sens That They Do Have a Solid Backup To Craig Anderson and Some Depth on The Back End For The Future. Robin is an Extremely Bright NHL Prospect With a Very Promising Future. Robin Will Be an Elite NHL Goaltender 1 Day, I Would Guarantee it. I See No Reason Why His Past Success Cannot Be Replicated at The NHL Level.

  1. it's because Robin Lehners father was the one that coached king henrik in his first pro club frölunda indians! 😉

  2. Thats because the ahl is still an adjustment. Binghamton lost Butler, Greening, Smith, Cowen to graduation, after that group had Lehner carry an average otherwise ahl team to the calder cup. That year Zibanejad, Silfverberg were in sweden, stone puempel and neosen were in junior. Last year with those 4 players gone, a bunch of lesser quality guys made the jump, Hoffman did okay the rest didn't adjust. A young ahl team can struggle.
But this year they will get help from Stone Dacosta & be better!

  3. Wiercioch and Dacosta had an injury filled year. This year they may even have Zibanejad along with Stone there. Wiercioch will be back and with a new coach in Luke Richardson, who knows and has worked with Lehner at camps, he will not play favourites like KK did. He drove me nuts. Brust then McKenna, ahl journeymen not nhl caliber and he kept playing them. Richardson will a better and healthier team will RELEASE THE LEHNER!

  4. He would if their ex coach Kleindorst did't play favourites. What happened to Lehner was politics. Coach Kleindorst was trying for an nhl assistant coaching position. In the 2 years Lehner has been in the ahl Bary Brust, an ahl journeyman, and Mike McKenna have been there. Both are good at putting up high stats at the ahl, they've been there that long. So the coach played the guy he felt easy going to. That's all. He ran with Brust, then Lehner carried the team to a championship. KK still didn't

  5. learn. Next year same thing. Plays the new ahl vet more because he just wants as many wins as possible to try and get him to an nhl job. However the Sens gave Lehner call ups and he played very well. How did this end? Coach Kleindorst, who focused on his own career progression more than his job, the progression and development of the Senators prospects. So now he is gone and Richardson, who worked with Lehner at camps, is the new ahl coach. That means Lehner is the #1 guy. About time.

  6. Researched it, visit Binghamton often, have friends there. This was all about a coach wanting an assistant nhl gig, who just leaned on the ahl vet. Luke Richardson won't do that. He is going to play Ottawa's top prospects a ton and develop them. He won't make Lehner the back up. Lehner just has to keep working hard, he's going to be the guy there this year.

  7. Do you think we can make the playoffs? And I was sooo sad when Jim O'brian, he looked to have a very dekeing ability, do you see him going anywhere? And my favorite player down here would have to be Tim Conboy.

  8. Do you mean, if i think the Sens or Bsens can make the playoffs this season?
I think the Bsens will, the Sens won't. The Bsens are going to get a big boost on offense with Zibanejad and Markstone getting added, possibly Prince and Pageau as well. Richardson is the coach, good fit, gonna roll with Lehner. Yes the Bsens should make the playoffs.

  9. The Sens making the playoffs has less to do with that they got slightly better this offseason and have Silfverberg joining. Its about what 2 other teams do. See if they have the 15 team/ conference system again, that means its the 1-3 division leaders, my teams /division system. Ottawa has to crack the top 8, but I doubt Miller will have the same mind boggling start he had this year, so count Buffalo back in the playoffs. Tampa upgraded on defense and goaltending. Pencil them in.

  10. Already with just those 2 teams making it, i doubt the Sens will crack the top 8. Not to mention winnipeg upgraded at center and caronlina got Jordan Stall so the teams who fight for 9-10 are going to be fighting hard for 6-7-8 this year. On the other hand Ottawa is going to most likely, have a better start to the year, has more talent offensively and defensively than last, no more Alex Auld at back up as well. Anderson is a workhorse goalie and will be kept from knives so more wins from him.

  11. I'd say the Sens will likely end up in 9-10th. The competition is going to be much tougher this year. As long as they have a better start, most likely, and play like they can, they could still get a 7 or 8 seed. But when I look at: Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Nyr, Florida, Pitt, Nj plus Buffalo i believe is a lock thats already 8 teams. Sens are really going to have to be consistently picking up W's to make it.

  12. Yea, but for the Hershey Bears, we did pretty good against them last year, well, Robin did. But they have always been a good solid team.
