Even before the race, all eyes were on #sydneymclaughlin and #gabbythomas. The competition between them is unmistakable. Well, Sydney McLaughlin and Gabby Thomas are undoubtedly two athletes to watch out for!

Both of them may be US athletes, but they specialize in different events. Gabby specializes in the 100 and 200 meters sprints, while Sydney competes in the 400 meters hurdles. They both built a name for themselves in the sport, in their own merit and talent.

Gabby Thomas is also a 1x Olympic Games Silver medallist, 1x Olympic Games Bronze medallist, 3x Diamond League meeting winner, 1x NCAA Indoor champion, and 1x National champion. She also won both an individual bronze medal and a team silver medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

    This was clicked bait.. Sydney was already a much stronger 400m runner over Gabby for years now. She obviously run 400mH hold WR, and has already been part of 4x400m winning teams on the World stage.. its almost expected for her to win in open 400m, this Not News

    Sydney is some kind of a beautiful woman! Lean, long, & lovely. She has a beautiful smile and always makes thoughtful comments it seems to me. Girl is killin' it!

    Is this an issue about track, or someone trying to do colorism? 400 is Sydney's race …duh! Gabby's strength is in the sprint…200. They are both talented athletes. Hope they don't feed into this mess.

    Gabby isn’t worried one bit about the 400M distance
it’s just training for her! Although, we may wanna consider using Gabby on the 4x400M relay
she’s very fit for that.
