  1. Stan Bowman is going to make a hard push for Hyman, so I look forward to watching Hyman play in the Indian Head.. I mean Hyman will be given a much bigger or more prominent role with the Blackhawks, and some space so I just cant see Hyman turning down the opportunity – especially when the Hawks have the cap space to sign Hyman at market value. I mean If Hyman were to stay in Toronto he would have to take a significant cut in pay to make it work – and that is something Toronto is in no position to be asking a player to do. Sure, if Toronto went on a playoff run it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities guys like Hyman would take a cut BUT when you get bounced in the first round there is just no way any player would be willing to make a sacrifice for the Leafs..

Also, perhaps the Leafs would be in a better position if they DIDN'T sign Tavares? signing Tavares was both stupid and redundant – not only that but it's hilarious watching Leafs homers attempt to defend and even justify the signing… I mean I lost a ton of respect for everyone involved with the Tavares signing. That had disaster written all over it yet that message went ignored..

  2. Only way I see hyman working with the leafs is a short term deal. Maybe 3 years. Which I know he wont do.
I think Reillys time is up in Toronto. I can see kerfoot gone with expansion or trade. Anderson is gone. Leafs need to keep the core and make other big changes. Time for heads to roll
    .

  3. Hyman don’t take a pay cut leave Toronto and get what you deserve. Other players didn’t take a pay cut why should you. You’re a star player and great person go get your mon—— ney

  4. LEAFS ARE DONE
LOSING HYMAN THE ONLY GUY WHO DIGS PUCKS OUT . THE ONE GUY WITH HEART AND DETERMINATION . NOTHING BUT OVERPAID CUPCAKES ON THIS TEAM .

  5. You’ll never win anything with Willy. He’s a me first kind of guy with very little upside. Gotta love Toronto media, any ufa available is going to Toronto.

  6. Sign Hyman, move Marner for high draft picks. Free up cap Space: sign a D. And a steady 2 way forward…. then wait for a Matt Tkachuk , Marchand, tom Wilson type of player. This team needs that kind of diversity!

  7. No player should take a home team discount unless in the final year or two of there career similar to a Jason Spezza. Leafs can not afford Hyman in there current approach to roster construction. Sadly we need more Hymans on the team and less perimeter players like Willie. But oh, Willie had a great playoff …… or was it Galchenyuk?

  8. One way around the salary cap with zac is that we leaf as fans promise to buy his children’s books. If he stays for less than 5m aav I will personally buy one for all the kids in my family (11)

  9. Another Cap casualty for Dubas yet you idiots keep defending him. SMH
DUBAS IS THE PROBLEM. Wake up and smell the coffee. BTW "the bank of Kyle"
was closed long ago. Unless you include the picks and prospects value he's
freely handed out for rental players recently.

  10. Why do we care about the Leafs so dam much? They can't get sh!t together so why should we even care any more? I love the Leafs and want to see them hoist the Cup just once before my time ends. I'm 50 now so maybe within the next 15 to 20 years they can rebuild another couple times then finally hit the jackpot where the player's actually want to play to win the Cup not just a pay check.

  11. Hope Hyman walks away. Go get his money.. Else where.. He is a work horse.. I think he is worth 6 or 7 million..harder worker then marner..get your money Hyman

  12. sorry Chris I disagree with you…their biggest need is offense…this team is NOT explosive or offensively gifted as many think. They've lost Brown, Leo, Matt, and soon Hyman…goodbye until the next rebuild. Ottawa will be stronger in 2 years or less.

  13. What is the big market loss for Hyman? Being on a team like Toronto also means other forms of income from signing bonuses to Commercials. Smaller markets won't have the same opportunities.

  14. At 29yrs old, this next contract will probably be the last one he signs, so he probably should follow the money…
