There's a unique pain in watching your team come out in the first 10 minutes looking better than they have in a while and then going right back to looking like they usually do for the next 50 minutes

The wings came to play! The sabres were having trouble all day. Most of their shots on net looked more like passes to the goalie…
They have 1 line who can get it done. Once you shut that line down… they’re done. Buffalo needs alot more depth

Buffalo still has as many or more Regulation Wins than does five teams ahead of them; but starting games off like this afternoon led to a lot of Regulation Losses this season, with little chance to reach OT and earn a point or two.
That total lack of preparation, hunger, etc. ought to give Buffalo’s brass pause in bringing back certain bench bosses, perhaps even Granato despite his well-intentioned patience, his extension. This team is too talented to fritter so many games away early, young or not.
How about those Wings
Bummer of a game I was really rooting for the Sabres to pull this off and drive to that last open playoff spots. Their fas really need it. Looks like it's near impossible at this point.

Lyon was the goalie of record when Florida put the proverbial nail in the coffin for Buffalo late last season as well. That about does it for the Sabres. Not technically eliminated yet, but it sure feels like it now…
