We're in a new age of hockey. I'm sorry, but we can't keep looking in the past. Hockey is much faster and different than it used to be, and honestly our Leafs suck right now. I'll be optimistic for upcoming years, but Ottawa is better… I mean, 7 and years no playoffs. It's getting old.
Schenn was a young guy here, give him credit. He shouldn't have been fighting or enforcing on behalf of teammates back then. They had no muscle so they relied on the young guys with a lot of talent to do this. He should have been striving to be a better d-man and learning the NHL style, since he had no minor league experience at all, and was thrown into the NHL direct from junior, which is very rare, today. Typical of Leaf management thinking back in the day….
