Wasn’t our expected goal for the Islanders 6.58? I’m pretty sure I saw that infographic in the second period.
We’ve run into some goalies that like to stand on their heads lately.

People posted that last night was not a great win. I thought it was a great win. Second half of a back-to-back, on the road, against a team making their last stand for the playoffs.
The Preds “got goalies” but still won.
The Preds have had an issue getting the production they need from the middle six this year. This is partly by design. They are rebuilding and cleared the roster our for young and newish guys. They want to see who can come through.
The possession numbers are all good and the guys in now play the right team game but they haven’t always been able to convert goals. Some of it is luck and some of it is the chances need to be even better.
The difference in the win streak was they did get the goals.
A byproduct of this is they can roll lines more and play the older guys on the first line a little less. During the streak, the TOI chart was super balanced.
They also have more guys coming and can always buy a dude to help over the summer or down the road.
