It’s makes no sense for him to believe. Mcdavid benefits him more than he Dosent, and if he leaves Connor he can kiss 20-30 extra points goodbye each year. He’s also playing in arguably the weakest division in hockey where he does stand a chance of making it to the finals.

Outside of that, if the puck isn't on his stick he's lazy as fuck. His back checking is laughable, his defensive zone awareness is a C at best, and he way too often let's his emotions get the best of him.
He has retaliated on WAY too many already called penalties that turned into 4 on 4s because he's a giant man baby. He also takes so many stupid penalties for no fucking reason aside from his pride was hurt.
The biggest downside to losing draisaitl is the amount of time required to catch someone up to the familiarity of draisaitl with mcdavid.
Anyone that thinks Drai is top 3 is just watching oilers highlights, not actually watching the games.

Draisaitl is a huge defensive liability. He’s also one of the best passers in the league, best backhand passer for sure, and his shooting office, just off the goal line, is lethal, but he’s so bad on defense, that the Oilers could improve on him easily.
