I was at the game. WE knew the Stars were dominating the action, but it never felt that the Stars had as many shots in the first 2 periods that they did, yes they out shot the hawks, and buy a lot, but it didn't feel like they had nearly 40 shots on goal the first 2 periods. Maybe it was quality of shots? Dallas seemed focused on rebounds, Hawks seemed focused on clearing the trash (finally). The first goal very much seemed to pop a bubble and lead to the next 2. Glad the refs didn't ruin the game with a few questionable calls. You may call it home team bias, but it seemed the refs wanted Dalas back in the game and a few calls went that way. Glad the Hawks could hold on. It was my 7th game of the season and yet only the first win I witnessed.
On a weird note. The race for Bedard last year had 4 teams between 58 and 60 points, Bluejackets already have 5 more points than last year with 5 to play, The ducks had 58 points last year are at 54 with 5 to play this year, Hawks had 59 points last year and stand at 51 points with 6 games left, Sharks had 60 points last year and are at 44 with 6 games to play. So at least 2-3 teams are doing worse this year than in the race for bedard. 1 I hope Celebrini is worth it. He looks very 2 I am glad that the lottery didn't go to the worst team last year to de emphasize tanking. (I am a Hawks fan, but i do believe there is a difference from last year and this year , Last year an old team was bad, we were just letting the clock run out, This year we gave lots of young kids time in the league to see if they could earn their spot. Injuries and drama seemed worse this year as well.)
